Am so sorry for the late update but ur girl have been very busy 🙏🙏

*CHAPTER FOUR*

Yasmin trembled and cried as she approached the dining table, her eyes on Hajiya Maimuna who had one of her gut-wrenching looks on.

"You've now began to overstep your boundaries haven't you?!"

"I'm sorry." She cried, wondering how this chapter will end. A little? Too much? Or perhaps will this be the last? And just like a lot of other times she thought; what if I really die in her hands?

Alhaji Sufyan stood up from his seat, gave his daughter a hard look. "Make sure I never see his face again." And with a cold look at Yasmin, he made for the stairs.

Yasmin was almost peeing her pants at the coldness of the room, the daughter was looking at her with a ruthless gaze and the mother wasted no time in launching at her with slaps, kicks and heartbreaking insults.

She kept crying and begging, the only thing she was ever capable of doing. Well she wouldn't dare think of anything else, this woman was the only family both she and her father had left - her and her kids.

She never grew to know her maternal family, they only sometimes talk over the phone with her grandparents anytime she's lucky enough to meet her father which didn't occur often due to his work nature and also he being unwelcome in the house.

He only comes over when his sister isn't home.

Just like always she didn't run away but kept wailing and pleading with her aunt to stop which didn't work - it never did.

But then Khalifah appeared and pulled his mother away from the young lady. "What did she do wrong?!"

"Get away from me Khalifah!"

"Why don't you go after him and beat him up? She didn't ask him to say what he did!"

"Are you raising your voice at me?!"

"Stop this Mum, please. You're being unjust."

"I didn't ask for your opinion so get lost!" She tried pushing him away but he stood his ground.

"Then hit me, hit me all you want."

She stared at him for some seconds. "Are you insane?"

"I guess I am. For the past weeks I've turned a blind eye to everything concerning her just so you won't have an excuse to pounce on her like you always do but this is out of the line. I refuse to stand by and watch."

"Khalifah!"

"If you can't punish him for behaving the way he did then why transfer the blame on her? She literally did nothing wrong."

"She's a witch and all she does is cause trouble!"

Khalifah shut his eyes, blew out some air. He then opened his eyes and fixed his gaze on his mother. "Let her go, please."

"Stay out of this."

"I'd have dragged her out of here but I don't want to give you an excuse to hold on to, so just stop this and let's leave please."

"You don't tell me what to do!"

He sighed and moved aside. "Okay then, hit her."

She began throwing kicks at Yasmin again and he pulled her away.

"Seriously?" He scorned. "'You don't tell me what do', then what are you doing?"

She gagged on words, batting her eyelashes. "Are you insulting me Khalifah?!"
