Chapter Two

In the following years, Aeris went through the youngling training very easily. She mastered the 7 forms of lightsaber combat, increased her bond with the force, and deflected the blaster's shot with her eyes closed.

In the eyes of the council, she was way past the younglings' level. That's why the council decided to put her on a mission under the supervision of Master Qui-Gon and his padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. They boarded the ship after some words from Master Yoda and Master Windu.

Yoda: Careful, you must be. Obey Master Qui-Gon, you must too.

Aeris: I will Master, you won't be disappointed.

Windu: We believe in you. Now go.

She bowed and boarded the ship. Her mission is to protect Queen Padme Amidala, the new Queen of Naboo, and her cousin. She was really glad to see her again but she couldn't help but feel anxious. It's been three years since she first came to the temple, and even if she improved a lot, something was bothering her. She's been having those weird visions of the force. It felt like it was calling her, pushing her to explore the force in general. She tried to learn more about the dark side but the Jedis at the temple were close-minded when it came to this subject, and the holocrons library hadn't any information about it either. At least not the ones that were accessible to the younglings.

They arrived in Naboo within a few hours, landing at the Queen's airport. Padme was there, waiting for them, surrounded by guards.

Padme: it's a real pleasure to meet you.

Qui-Gon: the pleasure is all mine your highness.

Padme: Please, follow me.

They headed toward the throne room and locked it. Once they did, Padme dropped the act and took Aeris in a strong embrace.

Padme: I missed you so much little star.

Aeris: I missed you too Padme.

Qui-Gon: Your Highness, I believe important matters shall be discussed.

Padme: You're right. Please take a sit.

Aeris stood next to Obi-Wan, listening to the conversation and starting to think of the possible results of Padme's request to the senate. The meeting lasted 4 hours during which it was decided that Padme will come with them to Coruscant to attend the senate meeting. They would stay 2 days in Naboo before going back to Coruscant.

The days went by quickly. They boarded the ship and went into hyperspace. When they arrived at Naboo's blockade, something seemed off. Aeris rose on her feet and went to the cockpit.

Aeris: Something's off.

Qui-Gon: I know, I sense it too.

And that's when everything started going the wrong way. Laser shots appeared from nowhere, special ships started to follow them and that's where the hunt began. The ship started to go rogue, everything was shaking, and the shelves were emptied by the swings of the ship. Aeris ran into the main part to secure Padme. Qui-Gon, with the help of his Padawan, managed to make their escape. However, the ship had taken a hit and they had to land roughly on a planet.

Obi-Wan and Aeris were the first ones to leave the ship. They had landed on a desert planet. And the only planet like this around was Tatooine...
