The Heir of the Force (Book 1)- Anakin x OC

Chapter Four

They arrived in the center kitchen after a 10-minute walk. When the five of them entered, Shmi Skywalker was cutting some vegetables. She was a beautiful woman with dark black hair and brown eyes, totally opposed to Anakin's blond hair and light blue eyes.

Anakin: Mum !

Shmi: Ani ? What are you doing here ? Who are those people ?

Qui-Gon: We're sorry to intrude, but may we speak with you ?

Shmi: Yes, of course. Please take a sit.

They all sat around the table. Shmi was facing Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan with Padme on her left. Anakin and Aeris sat next to each other at the end of the table.

Shmi: What do you want to talk about ?

Obi-Wan: I assume you know who the Jedis are ?

Shmi: Of course, after all, I'm talking with two of them.

Qui-Gon: Three actually. Aeris is young and still a youngling but she is as skilled as all the padawans of the temple.

Shmi: Oh my ! That young and already that skilled ? May I ask how old you are Aeris?

Aeris: I'm six.

Shmi: Anakin is only three years older than you. It's impressive how the younger ones always seem to be special.

Qui-Gon: Ma'am, Anakin's bond to the force is high. We're here to ask you for your blessing to take him with us to Coruscant and train him as a Jedi.

As Qui-Gon dropped the news to Shmi, the colors drained off of her face. The idea of letting her baby boy leave was like being stabbed in the heart.

Aeris: Master ?

Qui-Gon: Yes Aeris ?

Aeris: She can't stay here.

Obi-Wan: What do you mean ?

Aeris: I don't know, I just feel it. It's the same feeling as the one I had when I found Anakin.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan looked at each other once again. Agreeing to take Anakin, the possible chosen one, was one thing, but bringing his mother too ? They hesitated. Was it a good idea ? Since this day, Aeris' bound to the force never failed them. However, this situation was a first and they didn't know what to do.

Qui-Gon: We still have to discuss it with the council. We'll stay here tonight, after all, the ship is still damaged. Aeris ?

Aeris: it shouldn't take much time to repair it. I'll do it tonight.

Anakin: I'll help you. I'm good at repairing things.

Aeris: Thank you.

She gave him the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. After all, for him, Aeris was really beautiful, like an angel. Even more beautiful than Padme. She had those green emerald eyes that he found stunning and short brown hair with some golden strigs among it. He was still too young to understand how he felt toward her, but he had this feeling like they were linked by an invisible string.

The Jedis and Queen Padme were led to the Skywalker's home where they were to stay the night. Aeris and Anakin managed to fly low and take the spaceship next to their house before working on it together, always smiling at one another.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan spent one to two hours discussing with the council about Aeris' sayings. The council was well aware that her sayings were guided by the force itself. The girl's level of midichlorian was higher than what could be found in the archives after all. Finally, they agreed on bringing Shmi and giving her a job back on Coruscant.
