Chapter Fourteen

When they exited the ship in Coruscant, a lot of people were waiting for them on the temple's deck. Yoda was the first one to step forward.

Aeris: Master Yoda.

Yoda: Aeris. Scared us you have. But brave, you've been. Report to the council, you must, as soon as possible.

Aeris: Sure thing Master.

Aeris kept greeting the people that were there until her eyes landed on a particular sandy-haired boy.

Aeris: Anakin !

The young boy took a step forward and hugged her as tight as he could.

Anakin: You scared me, you know.

Aeris: I'm sorry Ani, but I'm all good, see ?

She stepped out of the hug and twirled a bit to show him that she was all right. The boy smiled, seeing this angelic girl in one piece. When he learned about what happened, he was terrified. The girl was his savior, she took him out of slavery, as well as his mother, and gave them a new life. But there was more. He felt like he needed to protect her more than everything. She was his light, the only light he needed in this world.

Once she greeted everyone, she was taken in front of the council to relate the events that took place once she left Master Windu. For more than five hours, they discussed everything from the planet she landed on to the message she managed to decrypt from Yaddle's notebook. When the matter of the Chosen One and the Heir was brought up, the Masters all shared an uneasy look. After a bit, Aeris was dismissed and the important parts were discussed.

Shaak-Ti: If the prophecy is happening, then we have to start training them together as well. They have to be able to defend themselves.

Eeth Koth: I agree. Those last years showed us that they're able to survive by themselves.

Plo-Koon: We have to take it to another level.

Yoda: Real life experience, they need. To understand the galaxy, they must.

Qui-Gon: Don't do it too fast. We mustn't forget that they still are children.

Windu: The time has come. We cannot wait anymore.

Yoda: Settled it is, Padawan she'll become.

Eeth Koth: Who will be her Master ? The boy already has one, and a good one. We cannot choose anyone available.

Yoda: Master Windu, it should be.

Windu: I don't do Padawans.

Qui-Gon: Come on Windu. You don't do personal training either but you still went with her.

Plo-Koon: Plus, if what Master Yoda stated is true, you're the best person to help her.

Yoda: Balanced, she is now. But stay balanced, will she ?

Shaak-Ti: Then this is settled. The girl will be under your care Windu.

Windu let out a small sigh but smiled nonetheless.
