Cyrus Anders

Cyrus woke up groggily, confused as to why he was sleeping on an unknown couch before he remembered what had happened the previous night. He looked around the room he was in but didn’t see Brynleigh anywhere.

Which shocked him because the clock told him that she should be getting ready for work. He sat up and stretched his arms above his head, hoping to alleviate some of the tension in his muscles. It didn’t work as well as he was hoping, but at least it did something, for the time being, that is.

He got and walked over to the bedroom that he remembered Brynleigh pointing him to the night before. He knocked on the door, lightly enough not to disturb a hangover headache as much but still loud enough to let her know someone was there. He didn’t get any response, so he pulled the door open a crack and saw that she was just laying in bed still. He smiled fondly before going over there and whispering to her that she had to get up. Which had gotten his head tapped as she thought he was her phone alarm.

He grabbed her arms and pulled her out of bed despite her protests. When he finally got her to wake up, he went into the kitchen while she put on some different clothes. He had asked if she wanted him to get her anything for breakfast, and she told that the pans were in the cabinets and eggs were in the fridge. So, he guessed he was making eggs or attempting to, at the very least.

The egg cracked and sizzled in the pan while it was cooked, and he flipped it over. He saw a still sleepy Brynleigh walk into the kitchen and sit in a chair next to the table. Yawning the entire time.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.” He teased her while he set two eggs and a fork in front of her.

“Mm, thanks. Where’s yours?” Brynleigh commented on his lack of food, already digging into hers.

“I can just pick something up on the way back to my place.” He shrugged slightly in indifference.

“No, no. I’m gonna make you some eggs.” Brynleigh tried to get up to go to the kitchen, but Cyrus pushed her back into her seat.

“It’s fine, you eat. I said I’ll get something on my way back home.” He laughed when she glared at him.

After that, they talked for a little bit, eventually getting onto the topic of work. Brynleigh was a product and social media manager at the company she worked at, one of the makeup companies he had seen in Sephora when he went with his sisters. He thought that seemed pretty cool.

Once they were finished talking about her job, she wanted to know more about him. She knew he worked at the bar during the night, but he didn’t do that during the day. So she wondered what he did all day. She was actually pleasantly surprised by how nice his day work seemed.

He usually slept in pretty late since the bar ran into the early hours of the morning, usually around nine or ten. After that, he got some food and wrote down lesson plans and left. He went to various houses to tutor kids on a lot of different subjects. He did hour-long sessions starting at eleven. He did home-school kids from eleven to two and then public school kids from three to seven. At the end of the last session, he would head over to the bar and get ready to take his shift at eight.

She was surprised by how well he knew some of the kids. He had Stacy Lee from eleven to twelve for history and social studies. Katte Beithin from a bit past twelve to one for English literature. Luke Stan from a bit past one to two for English literature. Kyle Beithin from a bit past two to three for psychology, he wasn’t sure why the parents booked the kids apart from each other, though. Lucy Saez and Caleb Saez from a bit past three to four for the cello and violin. Julian Rodriguez from a bit past four to five for math. Julian Rodriguez from five to six for history. Julian Rodriguez from six to seven for Earth science. A very tight schedule to follow every day.
