♠︎ JUNGKOOK
Jungkook wasn't sure what made him follow you inside.
Before he could think he was moving, past Taehyung - who was still sat looking uneasy beside him at the fire pit. If he'd been suspicious that something had happened between you and Tae before, now he was nearly certain.
And so he was following you, because...
Because what?
Because he cared? Because he was jealous? Because you looked upset, and he wanted to comfort you?
Jungkook couldn't say, but he wasn't going to sit out there while you were inside alone, your eyes filled with worry instead of mischief.
He found you in the kitchen once more, clutching a glass of water with a shaking hand. When you spotted Jungkook, though, you placed the water down, a curtain of calm descending over your face.
"Hi trouble," you teased, attempting a smile. But he wasn't buying it.
"Don't give me that," Jungkook threw back, wandering towards you. "What happened out there? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," you shrugged, as though Jungkook were overreacting, crossing your arms over your chest.
For a moment, Jungkook was tempted to drop it, but he couldn't. He couldn't go on letting you evade his questions.
"Let me ask you this one more time," he said calmly, taking another step towards you. "And this time, you're not going to lie to me."
At this proximity, Jungkook was looming above you. As he gazed down at the woman who had caused him nothing but strife for the last two days, he was struck by your delicateness in comparison to him. He was a good few inches taller than you, his broad frame enveloping yours, and though you gazed up at him defiantly, he could sense something shifting behind your eyes. Like a storm of worry in your irises.
"Are you alright?" he repeated, his voice gentler this time.
"Yes," you said softly. "I... didn't want to do that, to be honest. And then I felt a bit drunk and needed water. That's all."
