I helped Wren to a bench with clear view of the roof Doug mentioned, he was already on top watching us approach. I couldn't bring Wren closer cause the cannon fire damaged the hell out of the pier over here. It was ripped to shreds, and giant holes covered the pier, there was a huge wide-open gap, roughly about ten feet across. Where the wood from the pier was destroyed, and I had to get across it.
Alpha and Charlie where next to Wren, choosing to watch the fight as well.
"He's waiting for me," I said looking up at Doug.
"We can just leave Saren, you don't have to do this," Wren said, trying to convince me to stop one last time.
"I'm sorry Wren... I can't. I have to do this, I promise I'll make it back to you," I said and bent down to hold her as tight as I could.
"You don't seem sure," She said, holding onto the back of my shirt, keeping the hug going. "Just...come back to me."
"Always and I love you," I said, tilting her chin up and giving her one last kiss. Then I turned around facing the wide gap. There was two options, jump it, or go on the rickety path, that's hanging on by a few bolts.
Shaking my head, I decided to go with the path. It was a bent railing, that just barly reached to the side I was on. I could grab onto it, dangle my body and shimmy across with just my hands.
Deciding on the shimmy plan, I jumped down to a lower and broken part of the pier. As I landed the whole thing shook and groaned violently. I reached up for the hanging railing, and as soon as my hand griped it. The bolts snapped and the whole railing fell down into the ocean with a huge splash. The sharks in the bloody water started to splash and thrash. Looks like I have to jump it...
I climbed back up, and walked about twenty feet past Wren and the others. Turned around to face the gap, then rocked back and fourth on my feet like the Olympic jumpers. Then I started running as fast and hard as I could, my legs moving faster than humanly possible.
"There's no way..." Charlie said as I past him.
"Stop, your not going to make it!" Alpha yelled.
"Jump hard!" Wren yelled encouragingly.
That little boost from her, let me push off the pier a bit harder with my legs. Leaping off of one leg, I flew over the gap and landed in a roll on the other side. More than a few splinters covering my back.
I got to my feet, and looked back at them. Alpha and Charlie's mouths were fully gaped open, while Wren smiled proudly. I gave a quick thumbs up to show I'm ok, then turned around to go to the tower.
The door to the tower was open, and as soon as I stepped foot inside, the door slammed, and two guys were waiting for me. They locked the door and held up their fists. Of course, Doug has to cheat...
"If you guys just laydown on the ground, I promise I'll say how you two put up a good fight," I said, trying hard to convince them.
"Or... we can just beat you right here," The man on the left said.
The man on the right laid down on the ground, "No way am I fighting him."
"Coward!" The man standing said, then ran at me. He brought back his fist and swung hard. I moved my head out of the way at the last second, his fist blew past my head and slammed into the wall. The crunch from the bones in his hands breaking was loud, and made the man on the floor cringe. I pushed the guy with the now broken hand to the floor, and he stayed down.
