Chapter 2

Xingqiu POV

Who could it be at the door and in the plain middle of the night? It would either be Xinaling who forgot something always or it would be some random person asking for directions, for example, a foreigner. Just as the maids  were about to open the door, I swiftly grabbed the door handle and opened it in full swing as a big gust of wind and small stone particles flew in my face. No wonder it was...

"JOHN LEE! How nice to see-

-First, my name is Zhongli. NOT John LEE. So cut it with that.

-Gn Gn Gn, *I imitated him and he eyed me furiously* Hm.. what brings you here? Lemme guess, *I looked at my shiny cut nails* You don't want to witness the fact that your son is trying to fuck Aether-

-WHAT? No! And yes. Maybe. OK YES. *He looked so flustered and red. Bullseyes. I hit him in the weak spot* I never knew my son would do this and at this age-

-I'm the same age as him so it's normal. *I have him a sly cat smirk before hitting him more in the target* I'm pretty sure you do that with the spaghetti (you know who I mean: Tartaglia aka Tagliatelle) I gave him a catty smirk* You also wanted it run away from that right?"

My friend nodded, flustered , and became redder than and over ripped tomato, at what I just said. He always looked composed and emotionless but with me, it was different. He was teasing, would laugh and we liked to talk about subjects no one knew. He was sorta like a big brother to me. I've had a big brother in my life but...we have a very cold relationship. However, with Zhongli, we got along real well! I was 17 and Zhongli was 27. Despite the 10 year age gap, we are really good friends.

Anyways. A minute later or so, the butler came in with two cups of hot green tea and wish cookies as some others were preparing a tea table. My friend bowed as a thank you and we finally settled in for some nice tea. My thoughts were interrupted my friend saying: "OsAmAnThAs WiNe" the typical sentence you would hear from him. Anyways, why was he here?

"Hey, Li, why you here?

-Oh! *He put down his tea cup joyfully and smiled at me.* I need-

-Lemme guess, My wallet? You spend 100'000 Mora in two days and you made your lover broke? Hah! That would be hilarious though!

-No no no no. Just listen to me. *his face became radiant* Acting. They're making a new reality dating show called "Loving bookworms"-

-Acting? ME? ACTING? You gotta be pulling my leg! Oh no! *I scoffed and shrugged* my days are over! *I put one foot on the table. He gulped and I looked at him angrily. He sighed:

"Well, what if I tell you, that a certain named Chongyun, will be in the cast-

-Yun Yun. *I muttered, my fingers interlocking in themselves.*

-What did you say? *He looked at me concerned.* I didn't catch that.

-Oh! It's nothing. Nothing I was just...thinking about it. *blush started smearing on my face.* You said there's a certain called Chongyun, right?

-Mhmm. *he nodded with a sly smile on his face.*

-Count me in! *I put my hand on my chest and put my foot on the table again. *

-Are you...sure? *his face had a look of concern.

-Yea count every bit of me into this!

-Alright. If you really mean it. Then meet me tomorrow in the Liyue hall. You have my number on your phone so you can always ring me when you feel down.

-Alright. *yawn* Well see you tomorrow Li."

Zhongli POV

I heard him mutter something. It was something like a nickname for that Chongyun. What was it already? Oh, it was Yun Yun. I immediately got out my phone and gave a call to my boss Hu Tao.

"Hello? Hello? Funeral-

-Hu Tao it's me Zhongli.

-Awww. *the brunette pig tail girl whined* I thought you were a client! So what do you want? You wanna find a nice place to make out with-

-Archons No! WHY IS EVERYTHING ABOUT FRICKING SEX HERE?! Whatever. Do you know anything about a certain Chongyun?

-Chong...yun? The only thing I know is that he likes to eat popsicles and is friends with Xingqiu's cousin, Xianling who's also going to be in the acting thing."

I nodded and hung up the phone. Chongyun, Xingqiu, together? I had no idea of how he looked like, but I know his family are exorcists and that brought me a shiver down my spine.
Also, I knew Shenhe, because of all the adepti things.
I arrived home around Midnight, and stumbled upon my husband who was taking out some almond tofu from the fridge. I thought it would be my son doing so.

"I never knew you were a midnight snacker- *I chuckled and he turned back startled*

-Oh darling! You scared me for a moment! *he gobbled a tofu slice and gave me a peck on the lips.* What made you come home so late? *he asked, as he wrapped his arms around my chest. I chuckled and he started playing with my hair* I was getting bored alright without you alone! *he whined and I chuckled*

-Oh really? Then you should've called me I would have come back home to spend some time. Just both of us. You know about the whole reality show saga? Well I was asked to hire the actors. And I decided the last that he could fill the last role so yea. Is our son still...doing...

-Oh thanks Archon no. *my husband sounded relieved* Aether's sister literally like barged in the house and shrieked: "YOU LITTLE LIAR! I THOUGHT YOU WERE AT XIANGLING'S HELPING HER COOK! AND INSTEAD YOU'RE FUCKING WITH MY EX! MY GIRL FRIEND YUN JIM HAS CALLED YOU LIKE A DOZEN OF TIMES! YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE GET OUT NIW BEFORE I MOVE MY ASS." And so yea, she was screaming so loud that the brother came down immediately and Xiao was there, looking all flustered and stuff. That's what happened while you left. And I was thinking: "Hey girlie, I'm dying".

-Wow, that's a lot of fiasco, I'm lucky I didn't I wasn't there! *I smiled sympathetically*

-Yea. *Yawn.* I'm really sleepy can we go upstairs in bed?

-Sure sure!."

I nodded.

Xingqiu POV.

Oh Yun, oh Yun yun, could this be really you? My long forgotten childhood friend? I thought, as I was fiddling with my earring that Chongyun gave me 10 years ago. I love it with all my whole entire soul, it matched my golden eye and my dark teal hair. The moon was glowing outside. I looked at my YouTube notifications real quick to find an Uncle Roger roast video but there wasn't.

Growling, I walked up to the bookshelf and managed to fish out the new book I bought on Amazon. It's called "Hide from the world" (all credits to LDShadowLady301     )

It's a passionate Yaoi story about this guy called Scott who and to marry this princess but he's gay, there's a lot of blood and the end, when the two beloveds get married, I've read the end over and over and over, I've scanned every word, devouring it and savoring it slowly.

I looked at my phone to realize that it was 1 am. I flopped myself in the bed and thought about what the next day would be awaiting for me.
