Gwen
The rain was still pounding as we watched Miles run away, blending into the skyline of New York.
"What just happened...?" I asked.
"They happened." Gayatri replied, pointing over to Hobie and Pavitr.
"Uh - what?" Hobie looked at us, carelessly.
"Well, you should know. You took his sketchbook out and there was something to do with Gwen!" Gayatri raised her voice.
"Ion know, mate. The lad just ran off without even trying to explain." Hobie shrugged.
"You should be explaining." Gayatri replied.
"Listen, I am sorry, sometimes I don't think before I speak and say dumb stuff like that!" Pav furrowed his eyebrows. It had been the first time I'd ever seen him this sad. I can't lie - I felt really bad for him. "I will text him now, saying sorry!"

It took Miles ages to reply. In fact, I was at home when Pav messaged the group chat saying,
Pav
-He replied! look guys!

-finally.Gayatri
-That's good pavi🥰
thats good pavThe message was very dry and boring. Just a simple "it's okay pav" or something. I didn't expect more from him though, it was just acceptance of an apology...
At least he accepted it.
I got into my pyjamas early that day. I didn't want to talk to anyone really... not even my friends. They all think something's up with me, that I'm not talking as much to them. They're not wrong, though. I have been quieter lately, but I don't want them to worry. They don't know what's happened, and I don't plan on telling them.
I sat on the windowsill, a place where I often sleep. It's comforting, in a way, to watch where the starlit sky and the cityscape meet, fading into each other, like a blur of watercolour paint.
Then I thought about the following day, having to brace myself for a new member of our group, almost like I hadn't already met him (which, makes the situation worse, when you think about what happened). I just don't want new members in our group, it's fine as it is... but if he has nowhere else to go, then, fine.
That's for tomorrow to worry about.
I picked my phone up.
3 missed calls.
Oh. I placed my phone back down and looked back at the array of stars.
After a while, I started to shiver. I looked at my arms and noticed goosebumps appearing. Tonight isn't the night for sleeping on the windowsill.
I walked over to my wardrobe and looked through the hoodies I have. Blue and pink or black and white?
I just chose blue and pink arbitrarily. Whatever works, I guess. I plunged down onto my bed, basically immediately falling asleep.
—————————7.25A.M—————————
I woke up and turned to look at my alarm,
"7.25!" I was going to be late. I had 5 minutes to get ready, because my school is like 15 minutes away. I jumped out of bed and rapidly brushed my teeth and hair, and put my school uniform on. I didn't bother eating breakfast, I just ran to school.
Luckily, I had 5 minutes to spare with how fast I ran. Gayatri, Pavitr and... Miles were all there. I walked over to Gayatri, hoping Miles wouldn't notice me. And of course, when I looked over at him, he was staring at me straight in the eye.
Please don't come over. Please don't come over...
And he walked over. Of course - just my luck. I braced myself to talk to him, avoiding awkward situations. I bit my tongue gently as he approached me.
"Uh... about yesterday. I'm um..." He began, looking down. He kept looking around, seemingly stressed. While darting his eyes from path to grass, from tree to sky, he locked eyes with mine.
His eyes were a deep, enchanting brown, glinting as they crossed my gaze. He shook his head, "...I'm sorry. About what happened... I promise I wasn't trying to draw you I just kept thinking of you so..." Miles paused his sentence, realising how much bigger he dug this hole for himself. "..that's not what I-" Miles covered his eyes with his hands, dragging them along his face. "Miles. I understood what you were trying to say... and..." I reply calmly, and gently grab his wrists, moving his arm down so he could look at me. He looked at me with guilt and embarrassment in his eyes, and then down at his hands. Realising what I had just done, now we were both in a puddle of embarrassment. "Uhm... sorry... I didn't mean to... um..." I pushed my gaze away from him. "Hey..." he chuckled. "...at least we're equal now." I forced a smile, scratching the back of my head and stepped back over to Gayatri.
The bell rang for class. Gayatri and I walked together. "Hey, why isn't Margo here yet? She's unusually late. And Hobie, but Hobie's late most of the time so I understand that." I asked. "Well, Margo sleeps in a lot and Hobie just... I dunno. He probably doesn't believe in being on-time." She shrugged. "Anyway, what were you and Miles talking about... I saw the way you and him were looking at each other." She smirked. "Haha. Very funny, Gayatri. He wanted to say sorry for the drawing. He was saying he didn't mean to draw me but he kept... never-mind. It's nothing like that." I rolled my eyes. "Uh-huh. Why did you hold his wrists like that?" She continued, and I felt myself going increasingly red as she went on. "I swear, it's nothing like that, he was stressed so I tried to calm him down... and we just met! Besides - if I liked someone, you would be the first person I'd tell... and Margo." I shook my head and walked into the classroom. Gayatri just nodded, raising her eyebrows and followed.
The classroom was quite empty, there were still people coming and going. Gayatri took a seat beside Pavitr, which was unusual. Could be to avoid conflict with me, because I did raise my voice at her.
I sat down at my desk, it was a desk for two, like every other desk in this classroom, so I just waited for Margo to arrive, or Hobie.
Where are they? Jeez... are they even in this class? Actually, probably not. I'll get some personal space if they aren't.
The teacher seemed to be late. That's something good that happened today, at least.
The teacher strode inside, remote control in hand. "Hello class!" She greeted us, and waited patiently for our chanting. "Good morning, Ms. Drew." We chanted groggily. She nodded along. "Well, um, today we will have a new student, Mr. Morales, joining us." She spoke, probably waiting for Miles to come in.
Ms. Drew is a cool teacher, she's kind and fun. She shows us cool stuff, and she definitely isn't boring with the way she teaches her lessons. I like Ms. Drew as a teacher.
Just then, I saw Margo coming in, beaming with joy... guiding Miles inside. Then leaving.
Being happy in the mornings is unusual for her.
