Miles
The doors swung open and I strode into the school building. Visions Academy. I bid my farewell to Pavitr and searched for the secretary.
Finding this office should be much easier than this! Seeking the room with the name "SECRETARY" embedded onto the glass framing, I search for the nearest student or teacher to guide me. None. Everyone else had gone into their classrooms, seemingly, so I was left there.
I heard a door swing open and shut. I turned around and navigated my eyes toward the doorway.
A girl, around the same age as me, 17 or 18, stumbled inside, yawning. She seemed to have rushed to get ready for school.
I sprinted over to her, slipping a bit as I ran.
When I reached her, she backed away a bit, seemingly confused. "Are you new...? I don't think I've seen you here before - but I'm usually late so I don't see many students often." She suspected. And correctly. "Yeah, I am, aha...,"I laughed awkwardly. "...anyway do you know where the secretary is?" I asked.
"The secretary? Her office is right there." She pointed at a room nearby the main entrance of the school. How did I not notice that? "Oh... thanks-" I replied, about to leave when she stopped me.
"Want me to bring you?" She grabbed on my shoulder. "Uh... sure."
"Ah, you must be Morales." said the secretary, in a thick British accent. I nodded. "And... Kess, what're you doing here...?"
"I was just... showing him the way, Miss." replied the girl. "Er... okay. Anyway, Morales..." she began instructing me, and Margo stood beside me, waiting. "...Now, shoo, head to your class."
I smiled and thanked her. As this girl walked me to my class, she asked me a few questions, like,"So... what's your name? I'm Margo." Margo? That's a cool name. Sounds... familiar. "I like your name. I'm Miles." I beamed. "Wait... Miles Morales?" Her mouth twisted into the shape of an O. "I didn't even realise. You're friends with Hobie and Pavitr right? Gayatri told me about you."
"Oh... aha. Yeah, that's me!" I grinned. "Hey, I heard them talking about you, wait..." I searched my previous conversations to remember what I remember her from. "Oh yeah! They wanted to invite you to a sleepover when we got dorms or something."
We conversed until we reached close to our classroom, starting to whisper - in case we get in trouble for talking. "Hey! Here we are. Your classroom." Margo pointed. She swung the door open, and guided me inside. I waved and thanked her quietly as she left. That was nice of her to help me.
I nearly began apologising for being late until the teacher stopped me. "It's fine. You're new. Anyway, why not tell us a bit about yourself?"
I nodded quickly, nervously glancing around to see if any of my friends were in the classroom.
Pav, Gayatri and... Gwen.
Are her and I even friends? I dunno.
"Uh... I'm Miles...." I stuttered. What do I say? Are people judging me? Definitely. I glance around the classroom again and see Pav smiling and nodding at me to continue. I didn't know what to say. Interests? Uhh. Art? "...I like drawing." I mumbled. I looked at Gayatri, who was sitting beside Pavitr, and she was smiling as well at me, but she seemed nervous on my behalf. I turned my gaze down, and then looked over at Gwen, who was looking left and right, but seemed to be chuckling to herself.
The teacher realised how nervous I was, my cheeks turning red. "...Okay, Miles, you can sit down wherever you want." She pointed to the open double desks. I hurried over to search for a desk and Gayatri nodded her head over at Gwen's desk, which was open.
Better than sitting beside someone I don't know, I guess. With trembling fingers, I nervously pulled the chair out from beside the blonde girl. Her sparkling sky blue eyes peered up at mine.
Then she looked back at her desk. Her fingers were tapping against the wood. Her nails were painted in blue, the nail polish slightly chipped.
I sat down beside her.
As the teacher was talking, I saw her continuously peeking at me through my peripheral vision. She seemed to be fighting back words, but I couldn't tell. It's only my peripheral vision.
Eventually, she nudged me. "Huh?" I turned my head. "Hey, don't worry about your introduction - nobody's gonna remember it." She whispered. "Seems like you did." I chuckled. "You seemed embarrassed. Had to reassure you." She grinned.Pretty smile.
"So you were worrying about me." I whispered, still smiling at her. "...Yeah. That's what a friend does, right?" She replied. "Yeah. I guess that's right." I softly spoke, looking back at the teacher, who was now writing on the whiteboard.
Note: SORRY FOR THE LACK OF NEW CHAPTERS😭😭 things have been difficult recently but I'm fine now
