It's a beautiful starry night. I laid on the roof of mine and Colby's shared house, watching the star's twinkle in the distance.

It was beautiful.

"Got space for one more?"
I looked down and saw Colby looking at me.

"For you? Always" I smiled back. Knowing I'll enjoy the company of my best friend.

The silence in the air felt right. Hearing the night go on, the hours ticking by and the stars shining bright felt like I was back home in Kansas.

I felt like, life was complete.

"I'm in love with you"

I heard Colby say those words. I turned to look at him, but he was already looking at me.

"I have done for a few months now. Your smile that glows up a room when it feels dull, your blue eyes shines the sun at me, your scent sends me home, here and in Kansas. I've always admired you. I had a crush on you for as long as I can remember. Even when you dated Katrina. I could never find someone like you. I know this is sudden. But i knew it was now or never" he says with the softest tone.

I shifted closer to him and held his hand.

"I always knew. You always looked at like I was the only one there, or when you bake, you'd always give me the best looking one and everyone else had the rest, I knew when you looked at Katrina in sadness, knowing you couldn't have what she had. I always knew Colby"

He looked at me with those eyes. He had that hope and doubt. Not knowing if I reciprocated those emotions back.

In fact I did. Not always, but recently. I love him being by my side. Being part of my life. Waking up with him, making videos. Something I wanna do for the remaining of my years.

I hold his hand tighter.

"Then let's it real. Your fantasy and mine collide. Making it whole"

He leans his head on mine while we both smile in delight. "Something I've been wanting to hear" Colby smiled.

"You'll hear more later on"

As he smiles. I move my head to look at him, within the second, I kissed his lips. Making that imprint in his mind. I lay back down and he joins me. I move under his arm and we lay there. Enjoying that end of summer breeze.
