After falling for a while, I landed on my back with a heavy crash. I groaned, feeling my body ache with pain. I could then hear hushed voices from all around me, prompting me to finally sit up and look around.

"We made it!" Akko cheered just close by. Her and the other two were piled on each other, but safe and sound it seems. I, on the other hand, was busy looking at the shocked and surprised faces of a large crowd of girls and women.

It seems this was indeed Luna Nova. And we just landed in the middle of said ceremony filled with students and teachers.

Akko took notice of me at last and gasped aloud. "Ashen One! You're alright!" I glance at her relieved and gleeful face, her smile still as brilliant as the sun. I nodded back.

"True to my word, I told you we would make it." I rose to my feet and cautiously moved my body, trying to relieve any aches and pains present to my best ability.

Once the initial shock was over, the teachers would quickly usher out the students, while I was told to stay put. I complied, patiently waiting for the room to clear out.

With the students and majority of the teachers gone, it was now only me, a short elderly woman with short pale green hair and blue eyes, and a much taller middle-aged woman with auburn hair and a slightly pale complexion.

The former wore a red coat and white scarf over her uniform, along with a necklace made of green stones and rectangular glasses. And sported an elaborate, curved witches' hat. The latter wore the plain dark blue uniform, the only noticeable detail being two feathers stuck to her hat.

"Well, I must say that this has been an unexpected turn of events!" The short woman exclaimed rather enthusiastically. "Not every year a group of students arrive in such a fashion, along with a man in knight armor. What ever happened that led to such an event?"

"Tis indeed a bit of a story, allow me to explain as best I can." I went on to explain to her the situation, mainly the things of most importance. Once I was finished, she gave me a thankful and relieved expression.

"Ahh, I see! Well then, I must thank you for helping them make it here safe and sound. Such a brave and selfless act you've performed!" Her praise was appreciated, and I bowed my head in return.

"Tis no trouble at all, miss...?"

"Ah, forgive me! I am Miranda Holbrooke, principal of Luna Nova Academy. This here is Anne Finnelan, one of my fellow teachers." Finnelan and I would share a look. She seemed to look at me skeptically, most likely wary of me.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, both of you." I replied back courteously, wishing to show the latter that I had no ill intent.

"Likewise, dear! If I recall correctly, the girl named Akko called you 'Ashen One'. Is that your name, by chance?" Holbrooke asked inquiringly. I dryly chuckled before shaking my head.

"Not my name, but my title. Regrettably, I've no recollection of my name." My answer was met with a saddened gaze from Holbrooke, and even Finnelan seemed taken aback with a silent gasp.

"Oh, you poor thing. I'm sorry to hear that."

"Nothing to be sorry for. Tis what it is. But in any case, tis not my intention to take up all your time. I'm sure you have other tasks to attend to."

"Oh no, dear. You have my full attention!" She then turned her head to Finnelan. "Anne, check on our new students and ensure they're adjusting well. I will keep our guest company."

Finnelan seemed reluctant to leave but would ultimately concede with a nod before taking her leave. Not without giving me one more scrutinizing glance. Once she was gone, Holbrooke faced me with a soft smile.
