'Who is that girl?' Jeremih had wondered to himself. She had been staring at the diner for about ten minutes crying and mumbling incoherently to herself. The mere sight of her had piqued such an interest in Jeremih that he was desperate to find out who she was.
She had clear, brown eyes that were sparkling with the tears that fell from them, short curly brown hair and an innocent appearance. But Jeremih could tell there was more than innocence in the girl that had caught his attention. It was obvious that the girl had a very long story to her and Jerimih wanted to read all the chapters.
"Hi Jeremih," Stella, the waitress, said as she walked up to him. He chose to just ignore her chatter and continued staring at the girl.
"More coffee?" she asked after receiving no reply. Her answer still remained silence so she turned to follow his gaze and find out why he was ignoring her. Stella looked out of the window as the kettle fell from her hand causing hot coffee to spill all over the floor. But it didn't matter because all Stella could think about was the girl staring intently at her from outside the window.
Stella stormed outside to her sister while Jeremih finally acknowledged her with shock clear in his eyes. It was obvious to him know that whoever that mysterious girl was she she connected to Stella in some way and rushed to the entrance of the diner so he would be able to hear their conversation more clearly.
"Omigosh! Alyssa, what are you doing here?" Stella asked her sister.
"I can't believe you, how could you desert Mom and I like this?" Alyssa asked in reply, her eyes brimming over with tears.
Stella suddenly noticed the suitcase that was in her sister's hand. "Mom gave you money right? Where is it?" she inquired before snatching the suitcase from Alyssa's hand.
"So this is what you've been reduced to? You're so pathetic," Alyssa cried out as Stella continued to rummage through her suitcase.
"Stop! I said stop you crazy girl!" Alyssa shouted over and over again as Stella began to throw her clothes on the floor in an attempt to find money. Finally Stella found an envelope and checked to see if it contained money.
"No, you can't take that! That's Mom's hard-earned money!" Alyssa cried appalled at her sister's heartlessness.
"I'm sorry but just let me slide this one time," Stella had told Alyssa before running off with the money.
'Let it slide? Let it slide?' Alyssa asked herself over and over again. "You heartless bitch, you abandoned Mom and I and now you want me to just let it slide? The day I do that will be right after I get my revenge on you!" She shouted out in anger.
Alyssa had started to run after Stella to retrieve the money that her sister took but then remembered that her belongings were strewn all over the side walked. She was torn between running after her sister or salvaging the remains of her things. Ultimately, she decided to go and pack up her things so she didn't know how to get back there if she did attempt to chase her sister.

Jeremih had watched the whole exchange with pity showing clearly on his face. He felt so bad for the girl, who he now knew as Alyssa, and watched her as she began to fold and place her clothes back in the suitcase. He wondered what had happened between Stella and the girl to make Stella behave in such a way.
It all just seemed so odd to him and only resulted in piquing his interest more. He would love to get to know her but knew he had to be careful about the way he approached her or else she would just become wary.
