Alyssa rushed out of the car and ran straight in Alexander's arms. She was so happy to see him and squeezed him tightly as Jeremih watched them with a glare. "Omigosh, Lex! How did you know to find me here?" Alyssa asked surprised that he was waiting for her at Jeremih's home.
"It doesn't really matter if I'm here does it," Alexander said with a big grin on his face. Somebody had texted him the address yesterday with very clear instructions to get Alyssa out of there. He had no idea who the person was but didn't even care because of how relieved he was to see Alyssa. "But what are you doing all the way out here," he asked with concern on his face.
"It's a really long story," Alyssa sighed, "lemme go grab my stuff and I'll tell you on our way to your place."
Alyssa led Alexander into the living room then proceeded to the guest room where she had left her suitcase and backpack. She was so relieved that Alexander had shown up or else she would have been stuck with Jeremih for who knows how long.
After Alyssa went into the guest room to get her stuff, Alexander was left standing awkwardly in the living room whiles Jeremih stared at him moodily. Jeremih was annoyed that Alyssa was leaving so soon and wondered how Alexander had gotten his address.
To break the unnerving silence Alexander asked after realizing that he looked familiar, "Are you Jeremih Pope?"
"How do you know my name?" Jeremih asked warily. He really didn't like Alexander's attitude
"Huh, so you really don't remember me?" Alexander said vaguely, "We knew each other when we were younger.
Jeremih countenance suddenly changed and he asked nervously just as Alyssa walked into the room, "Did I, perhaps, bully you when we were younger?"
Alyssa's eyes widened as she caught the tail-end of the conversation and she stared at both boys in confusion. Finally, to get out of the uncomfortable three-way staring match they were having she walked up to Jeremih, gave her thanks very formally and then walked out with Alexander as Jeremih watched with his mouth ajar.
Jeremih couldn't believe after everything they had gone through she had said goodbye to him in such a frigid way. He had thought they would, at least, have had a more friendlier farewell than that. Jeremih was sure it was because Alexander was standing right beside her, that was why Alyssa had acted so coolly towards him.

After Alyssa and Alexander left Jeremih's home, they headed on to the apartment that Alexander had rented for the summer. Alyssa filled him in on everything that had happened since they last spoke, before she left Burymilt, as Alexander listened with sympathy.
Alexander felt so sorry for Alyssa and all she had gone through since leaving her hometown. He decided that since, up until that point, California had been such a major fail for her he was going to treat her to an awesome time.
Initially, Alyssa declined her efforts since she didn't have any money and already needed to borrow money to go back to Burymilt but Alexander managed to persuade her using his charming ways. He pleaded repeatedly with an adorable 'puppy dog' expression on his face and Alyssa had no other choice but to concede.
First, Alexander took her to an amusement park where they blew off the rest of the morning going on various rides and attractions. Alexander made sure that what ever they did was according to Alyssa's whims. Every ride they rode, every food they ate, every game they played; it all had to be what Alyssa wanted it to be.
