Crispin's POV

I had never seen a house so big and decadent in my life. I knew it was going to but this was a whole other level. It was a beautiful cream, with beautiful molding on the edges. It looked to be a mansion, and it was the classic home style. It was the home of my dreams.

Rena stood beside me, her eyes wide as she stared at it. Carter sitting perfectly on my hip. Moments later the front door swung open and Ben ran out with a giant smile on his face. His brown hair sat messily on his head, and the sun hit his facial piercings and caused them to shine.

"Uncle Ben!" Carter fought out my grip and ran to him, Ben picked him up effortlessly and pulled him into a hug.

"Hey, little rugrat! How are you?"

"Good!" Carter chirped and grabbed Bens's face.

"Crispin, always good to see you of course." I rolled my eyes at him finally acknowledging me. Though there were no hard feelings.

"Oh don't lie, I know you are only excited to see Carter. But it is good to see you." I walked forward and clapped his shoulders as I smiled. "This is Rena." I motioned to her and there was a small smile on her face.

"Yes, Rena, so nice to finally meet you." She gave him a soft smile and turned to walk into the house. "Well, come on in. James is at the packhouse with the other alphas and guests, so we should get ready and head out."

"Can't believe we are the closest pack and still showed up last," Rena said as we all began walking into the mansion.

"And who's fault is that?" I teased her.

Rena had deep brown eyes, and to many she would be deemed a beautiful woman, and I could admire a pretty face truly.

I was lucky to have her mated to me. But there was a nagging feeling that my mate would look nothing like her. And I'm afraid that the thought is going to eat me alive.

"Since it's Friday, we want to have a dinner and bonfire! Then tomorrow it will just be the Alphas and the guests will be with me."

I nodded as I listened though I was very focused on the mansion as we walked through. They led us to a separate wing and the room we got held a bathroom and a small bedroom attached for Carter. I saw that even though it was a California King, there was only one bed.

William growled in my head at the thought of sharing a bed with her. With anyone other than our mate. As days go by he becomes more agitated, but specifically today. He has been pacing nonstop, growling, and saying that her smell is giving a stench.

He was even getting protective over Carter being around her. Not wanting her to touch him, or even look at him. I have never seen him act this way before.

We dropped our bags in the room and Carter ran around already making a mess.

I had given him flat braids on his head so that no one else would touch his hair. Many didn't know how to do his hair.

Plus, I didn't know the activities of the weekend, all I knew was that I and William didn't want anyone touching Carter.

"Daddy, this place is big!" He spun in a circle and his stuffed elephant fell on the floor.

"Come on kiddo, let's go get changed. We have to go to dinner."

"Am I wearing daddy's clothes?" I couldn't help the smile that covered my face as he said that. Whenever he had to dress nicer than his usual jeans and T-shirts he called them 'daddy's clothes' because they looked similar to my everyday wear. I loved it every time he said it.
