this is a short chapter !

peace. aurora finally had peace.

catherine was dead. after years of torture, she was finally dead. in a moment like this, you expect yourself to be happy right? especially if catherine spent your entire life trying to hurt you.

that wasn't the truth, aurora felt heartbroken. she felt as if a piece of her heart had been taken out.

her mother was dead. the woman who birthed her, who fed her. she may have been the villain of aurora's story, but regardless she was her mother.

aurora wiped her tears, sitting up in her bed. ddot grabbed her hand, locking their fingers together to show that he's there.

"am i crazy for missing her?" aurora cried. it was a rhetorical question, but ddot still shook his head no.

just two days before this, aurora found out saint died. what was up with people dying on her? not only that, she was also told that her father and stepmother were gone.

they just disappeared. akeem didn't know where they were either, it was all a mystery.

aurora didn't know who killed catherine. it was unknown. she had woken up from her nap by ddot, just for her to tell her that her mother is dead.

how? who killed her? why does she keep losing people?

"can i-can you give me space?" aurora wiped her eyes, "please?"

"of course. call me whenever you need me." ddot kissed aurora's forehead, before leaving out the bedroom. when the door shut behind her, aurora's head fell back into her pillows, she stared up at the ceiling, tears flowing down her cheeks.

downstairs, ddot plopped onto the couch, a tired sigh escaping his lips. mekhi walked out from the kitchen, looking at the tired male.

"you good?" mekhi questioned, he winced once he seen ddot's deadpanned face. "my bad, dumb question. how's aurora?"

"go ask her." ddot mumbled, "she wants space so i gave it to her."

"you do know she asked for space because of the news right? and not because you two fought?"

"mhm." darrien found that hard to believe. it's been two days since aurora had an actual conversation with him. it was usually one word responses, or just a sound in either disagreement or agreement.

back in the bedroom, aurora used the sleeve of the hoodie ddot got her to dry her eyes, still sniffling.

her head was spinning from all the news. her father left along with her stepmother, her mother is dead, and one of her brotherly figures is dead. plus, she decided to tell the rest of her friends about her pregnancy.

she realized that she needed the support of her friends. it felt so wrong to keep it all hidden.

picking up her phone which blew up with messages, she eyed the all the new notifications. one from kay flock which stood out the most.

kay
i killed dthang.

aurora felt her jaw drop , kay killed dthang? she had completely forget that she told him that he could, it felt almost surreal. people were dying left and right. and there was nothing to could about it.
