A blood curdling scream echoed through the house and Davey shot to his feet as Eva began to cry. He took the stairs two at a time and rushed towards the nursery where he found Rain standing white faced in front of the window, holding Eva in her arms as she sobbed. Davey stared in horror to see the window covered with a huge picture of Bret and Rain. It was from the Wrestlemania party and showed Bret holding Rain by the arm and Rain's eyes wide with shock. The photograph was a little pixelated as it had been blown up big enough to cover the window. Rain turned from the window and buried her face against Davey's chest as her brother-in-law brought his arms up to hold her.

"Its ok, it's ok," he said. "It's just a prank, Rain, just a stupid prank. You tell me where your ladders are and I'll go out and take it down."

"No," she said. "I want the cops here now."

"I'll call them," he said. "You see to Eva." The little girl was sobbing having been frightened by her mother's cry. Rain nodded and carried Eva through to her bedroom where she soothed her and then when she was calm, Rain took out her phone and went through the security camera footage. That picture had been put there at around half past five, just after she got home when they were all chatting in the living room. Someone had taken the ladders from the shed, put them up and stuck the picture up before returning to the shed. They had then looked directly at the camera and waved from beneath a black ski mask. And that made her so angry she started to shake. Downloading the clip to her phone she sent it across to Bret who rang immediately.

"What the fuck?" he said. "Are you ok? Have the cops been?"

"They're on their way."

"So he's essentially been released and told he can't come anywhere near you and then he's done this? They need to keep him inside! He's deranged!" Bret was clearly furious, as was Rain.

"No argument from me. God Bret I am so so sorry. This is all my fault," she said. "If I'd been a bit harder maybe..."

"Fuck no. This is entirely on him. Look I can be home within an hour ok? And then we'll work out what we're going to do."

"Ok. Bret, I don't want chasing out of our home but I don't feel safe here."

"See what the cops say," he advised and she sighed.

"I'm sorry Bret." She almost whispered this and then hung up before he could respond. Furious, Bret punched the wall and swore. Owen looked across at him.

"Everything ok?"

"That prick has been at my house again. Stuck a huge picture of me and Rain on the nursery window. Cops are on their way. Thank God Davey stayed with her tonight. If she'd been on her own..."

"She ok?"

"No not even remotely. She's angry and hurt I think."

"You've done your match Bret. Go tell Vince you need to go if there's nothing else for you tonight."

Bret nodded and sighed.

"Yeah I could. Just worried he's gonna think I'm taking the piss. It's one thing after another isn't it?"

"You aren't responsible for this, Bret. God I'd like to get my hands on that punk! Kick his ass all over! What a damn prick!"

"You'd need to get in line. I reckon if Rain got her hands on him she'd kick his ass," Bret replied and Owen laughed.

"Yeah I saw what she did to Scott Steiner. Tell you what I would hold that prick down so she could kick him in the balls."

"It's so hard for her Owen. She thought he was her friend, but this is just obsessive behaviour and she's done with that kind of shit." Bret sighed. His mind was going backwards and forwards over what they could do but there was no easy answer. All the emails and awkward behaviours from La Muerte over the months had been for one goal; to stay close to Rain. Bret didn't doubt that Joe had feelings for Rain but if the younger man thought it was love he had a screwed up idea of what love was.
