"Lyric?"
My heart sank as I saw it was the very CEO of the company. I'd much rather it be a murderer. This is so embarrassing.
I climbed out from underneath the table. My head was facing the floor and I felt my cheeks flush red from the humiliation I'm experiencing right now.
I breathed softly. "Hello, Mr.Maddox."
I couldn't make out what kind of response he was going to act with not only because my head was facing the floor but because of how dark it was.
That's when he put his fingers underneath my chin and gently pushed it to face him.
"M-mr. Maddox?!" I stuttered. Now, my cheeks are bright red.
He leaned in so that I could see his face a bit better and whispered, "Are you alright, Lyric?"
My body shivered when he called my name. The way he spoke it was completely unexpected. Plus, he still hasn't moved his fingers off my chin or his face away from mine. Man, was he attractive. Mr.Maddox is very, very, handsome. It's as if he knows what he's doing.
"Are you going to answer me, Lyric?" He smirked and let go of my face. He walked towards the door and motioned for me to follow. "There is a rule that employees don't stay past ten regardless of their duties. They should have informed you."
I didn't know how to process what happened at all. My heart was beating rapidly. It felt sinful to think about my boss in such ways. He was just trying to help me see him clearly.
"I-I'm fine. I get very scared of the dark, I'm sorry." I told him as we walked out the administration doors together.
He didn't reply, and just led me through the building. It was very large, so I appreciated his help.
"So... What made you want to work in the car industry?" I asked, trying to ease the silence.
He stood straight and said, "My father."
His response wasn't very joyful, so I decided not to push. After a minute of walking, we finally made it to the parking lot. Mr. Maddox didn't go and search for his car, but instead followed me to mine. This confused me.
"Do you need something, sir?" I asked.
He didn't say a word but just looked at my 2010 Honda for a long second.
"Mr.Maddox?" I asked again.
"Would you like a new car? I can give you a Maddox." He said this will such blankness that it shocked me. I forgot how rich he was for a moment.
I quickly replied, "No way! That's so much money, way too much for me! They are beautiful cars though!"
He nodded quietly. "Alright, Miss Lyric, have a good night then. I'll be off."
"Good night Mr. Maddox." I replied.

Another day at work. Today wasn't as bad as usual, and I suppose that everyday does get a bit easier here. I still wasn't given any significant quests by Mr. Maddox, but instead missions from Administration were often.
"Yo, go buy us Coffee." Bryan demanded.
Yes, missions like that. Basically, I'm their lapdog. I've been getting coffee, calling maintenance, and doing other odd jobs just because Administration were too lazy too. It's rather infuriating, but it's honestly better than doing nothing at all. Bryan seemed to get a kick out of making me run around, which was causing me to enjoy it a lot less.
"Alrighty." I rolles my eyes and stood up from my desk. Bryan handed me the company card. Now, I had to go around and take everyone's orders.
I picked up a notepad and a pen and began to make my rotation around the room. I started with the girl closest to me. She was a bit plumper with red hair and freckles.
"Hello, Bryan is sending me on a coffee run so what would you like?" I asked her politely, but she seemed to be to immersed into her work. "Hello? Miss?"
She jolted up and looked at me with a face that said "I am so tired, I NEED caffeine."
"I want the purest, blackest caffeine they've got. " She said with a straight face.
I couldn't help but laugh under my breath when I judged her cover and was right about it. I wrote down her order and began to take down everyone else's.
Hey, while I'm at it, I should go ask Mr. Maddox what he'd like.
I walked over to his office and knocked twice. I noticed the looks I got from my coworkers, but there's nothing wrong with it, right?
"Hello, Mr.Maddox may I come in?" I asked, leaning into the door.
"Come in." He said softly.
I opened the door to his office and headed over to his desk. He was typing something with one hand and reading papers with his other. He looked very focused on his work.
Looking around his office, it was actually well decorated. In the right corner, Mr.Maddox had a tall plant with a bright blue pot and smaller ones with other blue hues beside it. Near that was a wooden shelf that framed the right wall. It contained binders that said things like "Project A" in regards to the vehicles. He had many gadgets on his desk, that was glass on the top and wooden structurally, such as a pair of dice with 20 sides. Basically useless, but a cool thing to look at.
"May I help you?" Mr. Maddox put down his paper and momentarily paused his typing. I realized that I was quiet for too long.
"Sorry Mr.Maddox, I was admiring the decorations in here." I said.
He stared at me blankly. Again, with that emotionless response.
"Um..." I began. "Bryan is sending me on a coffee run. Would you like anything?"
I noticed his expression sharpen for a moment. He was thinking about something. Then, it softened and he said, "I'll have tea, too much caffeine is bad for you."
I held back a laugh. His sincerity wasn't expected.
"Is there a problem?" He asked.
I composed myself. "No, Mr.Maddox, I'll get it right away."
