Six months later

Over the last six months, things have been easy going and steady.

Dwayne and I are inseparable and we never leave each other's sight unless it's absolutely necessary.

The mate bond making us nearly inseparable and I can't find it in myself to care that I have a shadow.

My beastly nature has surprised everyone because when I'm not fully submerged into my vampire nature, I'm calm and nurturing. Whereas when I'm in my most primal form, I'm ruthless and deadlier than any of the other boys.

My killings aren't of the most kind nature and the boys have nicknamed me 'Angel of Death' because I'm so ruthless.

The irony in the nickname humorous, as I am nothing close to an Angel nor am I any where near Godly because as vampires we are the polar opposite of something like an angel, more accurately resembled by Satan or even a demon.

I'd never imagined myself becoming a cold blooded killer, driven by pure instinct when it comes to killing people, but I have embraced the life I was given and have welcomed it with open arms.

Despite my rather interesting nickname, things are great, and tonight we were going out to feed and we were all ramping up for the sun to finally set so we can divulge into a good feeding as it's been a few days since the last time any of us had hunted.

"Where are we going tonight David?" Paul asks, rubbing his hands together in anticipation and I roll my eyes.

"The woods. We're gonna split off so Dwayne and Delilah you guys can have your own time, while the rest of us will be together." David explains and I smile over to Dwayne who's already looking at me.

The sun sets soon after David's declaration and we're flying out of the cave as soon at the sun disappears into the ocean.

David, Paul, and Marko fly off in the opposite direction while Dwayne and I head to our favorite spot where many locals hangout to get away from the tourists.

We land in the trees, and I can hear breathing already but fur my brows when I don't hear large amounts of talking and music.

The breathing shallow and barley there and I look to Dwayne to make sure he's hearing the same thing and his facial expression mirrors mine, confusion.

Normally this place is crawling with locals, partying with loud music and shouting but tonight, it's almost silent aside from the shallowing breathing and faint heartbeats coming from somewhere in the clearing.

Dwayne jumps from the tree and I follow close behind him, both of us landing with a small thump on the grass covered ground as we both look around the seemingly deserted clearing for anyone.

Dwayne spots a singular car a few yard away and a couple slumped against each other on the ground and I fur my brows in confusion.

Dwayne walks forward first and I follow closely behind him, nearly clinging to him as we investigate the situation, a bit alarmed at the situation we'd walked into.

When we get close enough, I can clearly see that a man and women are laid on the ground together, both of them with needles poking out of their arms and I cringe.
