Hotch and I are stuck standing out in the heat of the afternoon. I had left my jacket in the car and here he is, standing next to me in his usual getup of a white button up, black pants and a black blazer.

A full on suit like he wears every day. It's 110° outside. How the hell isn't he dying in this heat? I've already drank a bottle and a half of water and we grabbed the large Smart Water water bottles before getting here.

"Hotch."

"Yes?" He asks and looks over at me.

"How the fuck are you standing out in this heat like you are?"

"Because fashion stops for nothing." He says and I stare at him dumbfounded. I poke him in the face and he gives me the same reaction Spencer did years ago when I did that to him.

"What did you do to Aaron Hotchner?"

"It's still me." He says and the officer walks back over with waters in his arms and hands us each one.

Hotch holds it awkwardly and me and the officer take a drink from ours.

"Hotch I haven't seen you drink anything at all today other than coffee. You need to drink some water."

"I'm fine." He says and we stand out there waiting for our information.

{Later, back at the police station}

We walk in and head to the room they're letting us use. I lay on the floor and Morgan laughs at me.

"Shut the fuck up Morgan. I want to see you go stand out in the heat for three hours."

"It can't be that bad." Morgan says.

"It's 110° and rising." Spencer says and I look up at him to find him sitting at the table drinking a cup of hot coffee.

"How the hell are you drinking that?"

"I always drink hot coffee or tea. As a result of doing this all year for multiple years, the heat doesn't bother me that much." He says and Hotch grabs a cup of coffee and walks over to look at the board.

I notice that they're both in their usual outfits and they should be sweltering in this heat, by wearing them.

When they finished their coffee, Rossi replaced the cups with ice cold bottles of water. They both absentmindedly take a drink and start coughing.

"What the hell!" They say at the same time and Rossi sighs as the rest of us laugh.

"You kids need to stay hydrated. So that means no more coffee, and no more tea, unless they're cold one that we buy from the convenient store." Rossi says and they both grumble and set their waters down.

{Later at 12:00 PM}

Dave

The AC stops working and a loud collective grumble is heard throughout the station. Aaron and Spencer have since taken to sifting through case files that might be related to our current case.

They have a large stack of files that they're going to compare to our current case and I look over at them and see that they haven't touched their waters since this morning when I replaced them for their coffee.

"Will you kids please take a sip of water?"

They both grab the bottles of water and take a small sip and then set the bottles back down. I sigh and the rest of the team has decided to just lay on the floor to cool down.

I decide to join them and lay on the floor. A silent agreement is made between us that we're not moving unless we absolutely have to. I shut my eyes and just relax again the cool floor.
