"Momma!" I heard Bria call my name. I stood from my place on the living room couch to walk down the hall to her room. I opened the door and saw her trying to tie the back of her dress with no prevail. "I need help."

I smiled and chuckled as I walked over to her. I tied the strings loosely into place. "There," I said, tying a bow, "all done." I took a step back to look at her.

She was wearing a long yellow dress with flower prints at the bottom and sleeves that stopped at the elbow. Her brown curly hair was done up in a half ponytail with two small pieces coming down around her face.

She looked at me and smiled. "How do I look?"

"Absolutely beautiful," I took her hand, "come, let's go show your father."

"Do you think he'll like it?" She asked as she followed me.

"He'll love it." I led her down the hall into the living room where Arthur, Jeremiah, and Eugene waited. Arthur looked up from his journal and smiled when he saw Bria. He stayed quiet for a few minutes.

"Pretty," Jeremiah said as he reached up for his mother.

"You think so?" Bria lifted him up. He nodded and kissed her nose. She giggled.

"He's right," Arthur stood, "you look beautiful."

"Thank you." Bria smiled. "Are you guys sure it's okay to watch Jeremiah tonight?"

"Of course, but," Eugene looked over to Arthur and then back to Bria, "is he really worth all this?"

"It's our second date, Eugene," Bria replied, shifting Jeremiah, "the first one, you interrupted with a gun in his face so it didn't exactly go as we planned."

"He was trying to make a move on you-"

"That I consented to." Bria replied sharply. "He was only gonna give me a kiss on the cheek."

Eugene grunted. "I still don't like him."

"Well, learn to." Bria set down Jeremiah and he waddled over to me.

"Go and have fun, sweetheart," I lifted up Jeremiah, "we'll make sure Eugene stays home this time." I shot him a look.

He rolled his eyes and leaned back into the couch. Arthur gave Bria a kiss on the cheek before she headed out the door. I looked over at Eugene who had his arms crossed.

I smiled. "Behave yourself, son."

"I don't like him!"

"What don't you like about him?" Arthur asked.

"I just don't like him."

"Or you don't like the idea of your sister growing up." I pointed out. "You gotta stop being so overprotective over her. She's gonna go out with men and be a girl. She's gonna get heart broken and that's just how it goes sometimes."

"That's what I want to prevent, Ma." Eugene looked up at me. "I don't wanna see her hurt."

"Honey, life is like that. Even me and your father got heartbroken by each other at some points. That's just how it goes. Life can't be that easy. Otherwise, it would be boring."

He groaned and looked up at the ceiling.

Bria entered the saloon with a smile on her face. She looked around for Henry before spotting him at an empty table.

Henry smiled when he saw her.

"Bria!" He yelled, waving his hand.

She smiled and made her way towards him. "Hey," she sat down across from him, "there'll be no interruptions tonight."
