❗️Trigger warning: slight mention of blood and gore❗️

The next morning, I woke up in my bed alone. I looked around for Sodo. I swear we fell asleep in my bed last night. I thought. Then I found a note on the nightstand. I picked it up, groaning because my eyesight still hadn't adjusted properly. The note read:

Hey, imp. Sorry that I had to leave without saying anything, duty calls. I hope you don't hate me too much for what happened last night. I promise you I won't tell anyone. See you at breakfast.
- Sodo

Happy that he took the time to write me a note, I smiled. I was a little sad that he thought I hated him, though. I sighed and put the note in my bedside drawer. I was gathering the will and strength to get up before I heard a knock on my door. Now I had to get up. Rushing to get my robe, I realised I had a monster headache. "Fucking hell." I cursed under my breath. I was hungover. Another knock was heard, "Coming!" I yelled so they'd stop. I finally made it to the door and opened it to see Papa standing there in all his glory.

"Morning, Papa!" I smiled, trying to mask my current state. "Good morning, cara mia." He smiled softly and gave a small nod. "To what do I owe this honour?" I inquired. He looked at me warmly and said; "I hear you've been hanging out with the ghouls." I seriously hoped he wasn't referring to last night. "Yes. They are all very nice." I mentally facepalmed after that sentence. You seriously couldn't think of anything more to say?!

"I'm glad to hear that, miss." He looked at me with that twinkle in his eye that I'd seen the first time we met face to face. "But I have to warn you; the ghouls can get a bit..." he paused, trying to find the right word, "rowdy. I suggest you watch yourself if you don't want to get hurt." Papa put his hand on my shoulder. "They can get especially heavyhanded during a new moon, which is in two weeks. I'll give you all the details when the time comes, but in the meantime, read this book." He handed me a book that I didn't even realise he was holding; Creatures of Hell: the complete encyclopedia. "I have marked the chapter regarding our ghouls, as well as the most important things you need to know. Happy reading!" Papa said in a jolly manner before kissing my hand. "You're welcome to join the ghouls and I for breakfast today since they seem to like you so much. In the park behind these grounds, you know where." He winked and turned around. "10 am, sharp!" He exclaimed with his back turned, walking off.

I smiled and waved in return before doing a 180 and groaning, discontent at having to get dressed. I looked at the clock on my phone: 9:47 am. Shit. I went over to my closet and threw what I wanted to wear on the floor. After struggling to put it on quickly, I brushed my hair. I threw open the door and put my shoes on as I was walking. Bad idea in hindsight, but I didn't really have time to think it through. "GAH!" I exclaimed, catching myself with my hands on the pointy gravel under me. "Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck!" I cursed as I looked at my scraped up hands, covered in blood and dust. I winced at the pain.

Shaking, I stood up. I then saw that my knees were also scraped. Thankfully, they were not bleeding. Great. So much for being on time. I groaned to myself, dusting myself off. I tried my best to act like nothing had happened as I walked over to the park we were gonna eat breakfast in. The park was just behind our buses and trailers, making it a short walk, much to my delight. When I finally made it, a few of the ghouls were already there, but they were too busy shoving food in their mouths to notice me. Understandable.

First and foremost, I grabbed some tissues, wiped the dirt and dry blood off my hands, and acted like I could function just fine. "Y/n!" I heard someone yell from behind me. I turned around and saw Aurora running towards me. She flung herself around me and made me drop what I was holding. "I see you didn't get kidnapped last night." She said, pulling back from the hug. She then cast a presumably bitter look at Sodo, who was sitting at the table eating a sandwich. "I was about to get mauled by a werewolf, but it took Sodo instead." I joked sarcastically. "If only." Aurora chuckled. She looked down for a brief second, then raised her eyebrow. "What's this?" She worried, picking up the dirty tissues. For fucks sake. I thought I was being discreet.
