I'm sorry but I changed the book title because I cringe when I see the name (also cause this book was posted in a rush when I first started it). It's probably worse because I am unbelievably bad at titles.

Ballister woke up to a feeling of warmth all around him.
He looked around to recognize the area. The first thing he noticed was Ambrosius. The second thing was a blanket draped over him.
Ambrosius sitting at a computer looking dull and frustrated.
Ballister sat up and tried to remember what happened last night.
"Ambrosius?" Ballister yawned.
"Hm?" Ambrosius jumped and turned his head toward Ballister's voice.
"Oh, good morning." Ambrosius smiled.
"Morning."
"What happened?" Ballister asked.
"You got drugged, came to my house, fell unconscious, but I made an antidote, and you woke up kinda drunk, then fell asleep on me," Ambrosius explained somewhat nonchalantly.
"Ok you made an antidote, then I was drunk...?" Ballister stared confusedly.
"Yeah the drug does that, and then you fell asleep," Ambrosius repeated himself.
Ballister thought back as well as he could.
Then it returned.
"Ah, shit..." Ballister slapped his face.
"Remember now?" Ambrosius asked excitedly.
"Repeat everything I said."
"Everything." Ballister groaned into his palm.
"Asked if we're really friends, something about hating me, and a big secret," Ambrosius answered.
"Ugh..."
"..I fell asleep on you..." Ballister didn't dare look up.
"Don't worry, it's fine." Ambrosius laughed.
"Oh yeah, I've found some stuff about the solution they injected you with." Ambrosius changed the embarrassing topic.
"Huh?" Ballister looked up curiously.
"So whoever stabbed you with it didn't want your death. Just, unconscious I guess. But since you pulled it out before all of it got in the effects were pretty slowed."
"It's kinda diluted in a way, it's mainly used against the royal family," Ambrosius explained.
"The royal family...?"
"Yeah, why?"
"No, it's nothing." Ballister brushed it off.
Ballister thought to himself. It couldn't have been the kid. Someone sent him. Somebody from the palace.
Ambrosius noticed the tense silence in the room.
"The knighting ceremony is in a few days is in a few days. The Prince and all."
As if Ballister didn't have enough on his plate. The knighting ceremony.
"Yup..." Ballister managed to keep a normal reaction.
"Queen Valerin is-"
"Ah, crap! I need to get home!" Ballister shouted at the mention of his mother.
Ambrosius jumped at the sudden interruption.
Ballister shot out of his seat.
"Sorry, Ambrosius! But I really need to get back!" Ballister frantically explained himself as he grabbed his neatly folded up cloak from off the table.
"No worries." Ambrosius smiled at him.
Ballister was about to head off before a hot urge stopped him at the door. He stood there with a warm feeling bubbling inside him.
"Hey, you okay?" Ambrosius stood up and took a few steps toward him.
Ballister let out a sigh of defeat. He quickly turned around and pressed his lips against Ambrosius's. Pulling him in by his shirt.
Ambrosius froze for a second.
But then leaned in instead.
He wrapped his arm around Ballister's lithe figure as he continued to deepen the kiss and bring him closer in. Warm hands tracing Ballister's cold body. Ambrosius had no thought to pull away. He was completely intoxicated by Ballister.
Ballister was the first to pull away instead.
"Sorry." Ballister panted out as he wasted no time leaving the building and shut the door.
Ambrosius stared at the shut door.
A smile crept onto his face.
"Ballister Boldheart," Ambrosius repeated completely lovestruck.
Both of them finally realizing what feeling they had been experiencing toward each other.

Ballister muttered to himself the entire run home.
"Ballister you stupid idiot."
"Why would you-"
"Ballister!"
Ballister snapped out of his muttering as Valerin ran up to him.
"Ballister! Where were you!?" Valerin cried.
Ballister hesitated to tell the complete story.
"The entire story or..?"
"Yes!"
"So um...I was drugged." Ballister ended the sentence short.
Valerin stared in concern.
"What. Where did you go?"
"Give me details Ballister!" Valerin screamed.
"I was drugged and I saw that Ambrosius's house was right across the street. So I went over to his place and crashed." Ballister explained.
"Are you okay?" Valerin calmed herself down.
"Yes." Ballister sighed.
"Mother?"
"Yes?" Valerin held in her worried sobs.
"Someone ordered an Outer City kid to drug me."
"Ambrosius said that the drug was used mainly on the royal family."
Valerin stared in shock.
"It has to be somebody from the palace," Ballister explained worriedly.
Valerin scowled.
"Ok..I'll question everyone here." Valerin immediately got to work calling guards.
"What happened over at Ambrosius's?" Valerin asked urgently.
"Everything...?" Ballister knew his face was going red and with no way to hide it.
"Why are you saying it like that?"
"Why are you red?"
Then she had it, a sudden realization.
"Soooo."
"Was it serious?" Valerin had one of those evil curious smirks on her face.
"No no no! Mother!"
"No, it wasn't!"
"Mother!" Ballister was at a loss for words. How could she think that???
"It was just a kiss Mother.." Valerin saw how defeated and embarrassed Ballister was. What every good mother does to there kid.
Embarrassment.
"You? Him?"
"Me..."
"Yes? No?"
"I don't know..."
"How do you not know??" Valerin asked.
"I don't know!?"
"Did he like it or not!?"
"Why are in my business!?"
"Cause I am your mother! Now spit it out!"
"Did he stop you or not!?"
"No!"
"That means it was a yes!" Valerin smacked Ballister on the back of the head.
"Ow!"
"What happened afterward?" Valerin asked completely invested.
"I...ran out..."
Valerin glared for a while before smacking him again.
"What is wrong with you?"
"Now when you go back to talk to him it's going to be awkward." Even Valerin contained the common knowledge not to run out.
"Yeah, I know...I just.." Ballister gave up explaining himself.
"When you go back to him, it's gonna be either you or him asking."
"Prepare yourself, my boy." Valerin shook to shamed man.
"Also, if you really do follow him." Valerin started to change her silliness to a serious tone.
"Are you going to tell him or not?"
"If you wait till the knighting ceremony, I can't guarantee he's still going to trust you."
Ballister stared with saddened eyes. Valerin patted him on the shoulder.
"Think about it."
"I'll go focus on finding the suspect." Valerin walked off and left Ballister with his own thoughts.
