[Inspired by my struggles writing for school assessments :)]

His heart pumped ink
Running words through his veins
Swapping limbs for sentences
Organs for pages
Tearing himself apart
To turn the pieces into paragraphs
His characters interwoven
With parts of himself
He could never take back
His worlds wrenched from his core
And soaked in sorrow
He put his soul on the paper
Infused with his very being

But still
It wasn't enough to please them.

They take
And they take
But give nothing in return
Make his stomach churn
With unreachable expectations
Goals set too high
Should he even try.
Maybe his dream
Is too far out of reach
A desperate longing
For the unknown, the unseen
How have you been?
Descending into madness
From the unbearable stress
His mind was a minefield
Grasping at straws
The split ends of his hair
He wrote himself bare
With nothing left to give
How can he live?

His corpse a bloody mess
Bled dry of inspiration
Endless distress
Maybe it's hopeless
Spiralling self doubt
Only one way to find out.
