Rapunzel agreed to help me with this part.

I was pulling out clothes from my closet when an idea popped into my head.

"Hey, Cass?" I glanced at my lady-in-waiting who was folding one of my nightgowns.

"Yeah?"

"Would my dad let Ann come with us?"

There was a long pause, like she was really thinking about it. "I dunno," she finally answers. "Why do you think she wants to come?"

"Um, I don't know if she wants to come. It's just...she showed me something...um, when she touched the rocks...they glowed. And then they made a path that connected with the one leading out of Corona. I just...if it means the same as mine...

Cassandra thought about it for a while. "Hmm...you could ask your dad. He probably has some conditions if he allows her to go at all. You can try."

"What are you two talking about?" Just then, Eugene walked in. He had a crate in his arms which he placed down for Cass.

"I was just wondering if my dad would let Ann come with us," I explained. "The rocks seem to be leading her somewhere too."

"We can't."

I was shocked at his answer. "What? Why not?"

"Don't you remember whose side she started on? We don't know if she's still on his side or not. For all we know, she could stab us in the back and-"

"Eugene," I begin. "I think I can see where you're coming from...But, you have to understand, I spent hours alone with Ann and Varian together. She was suspicious of him, much more than I was. Not to mention when my dad and I went to confront him. She tried to convince Varian that there was a better way. I can't imagine someone like that still being on his side."

"That could've all been for show," Cass added. "You never know with Varian. I don't think your dad'll let her come."

"Oh, why are we talking about all this when we don't even know if Ann wants to come?" Eugene asks all of a sudden.

"Yeah!" I smile. "Let's go ask her!"

"Princess, I'm not sure-"

"Move it, Chance."

"I don't have to do anything you say and-Ow, geez! It's still sore, you know."

"Let us in before I do something worse than that."

"Alright, whatever...Not like you could anyways..."

The door opens. I automatically sit up. "What is it?"

Nickolas had a hand over the right area of his face and looked extra sour as he answered "It's Princess Rapunzel. She wants to-OW!"

Cassandra had slapped him across the face, right in that area of it. "Move." She, Rapunzel, and Eugene moved past him and the lady-in-waiting slammed the door.

"What's wrong?" I asked, glancing purposefully at the door.

"Guess," Cass shrugged, a smirk on her face.

"Ah, I see."

I'm a bit confused. What was so urgent that Cassandra finally snapped at Nickolas? She'd kept her temper until now. What could be so important?

"So...?" I asked. "What happened?"

"Nothing," Rapunzel began. "But, I've been wondering if you'd like to come with us. Y'know. Since...what the black rocks did." She was, of course, talking about the rocks showing me out of Corona.
