All of our phones had switched from our pervious screen to this weird blueprint looking thing of Echo's ship.
"That's one big ship." Tuck said.
"Alex I don't want to stress you out or anything but there right behind us." Munch.
"Munch!" I yelled. I turned around he was right though.
"Alex! Drive faster please!" I said.
*d-d-dun-dun*
"Oh no." Tuck said.
"Alex it's your mom." Munch said.
"Don't answer it." Alex said.
Then we hid a bump making us move. But of course Munch had to press answer.
"Betty?" She ask.
"Betty?" She ask again.
"Shit." I whisper.
"Hi. Sorry about my tone last night." Munch said.
"Oh, I just thought it would be nice to have the boys over." Mrs. Nichols said crying.
"Your crying." Munch mumble. I sign and look outside. I saw Munch's mom.
"Munch. Your mom!" I whisper/yell.
"What!" He yelled looking outside.
"Uh Janice, I gotta go on my jog. Can we act like this conversation never happened." Munch asked.
"Can we act like these last 2 days never happened?" I mumble to myself.
*Later*
We had finally lost the people behind us. And we got where we wanted to be which was a wall... That we have to climb. Awesome!
"Looks like we have to climb." Munch said. He help up Emma. I turned around they had caught up to us.
"Guys there right behind us again." I said turning back around.
"Jump." Alex said. He helped me up over the wall. Then I hear tires screeching.
"Guys hurry up!" I yelled.
Munch, Tuck, and Alex finally got over the wall. And we started running in people's backyard.
"What if they catch us ?" Emma ask. I groaned.
"Shut up and run." I said. We had gotten to the other side of someone's backyard and Munch put a chair for a booster. We all went over it. Munch was last but slow.
"Munch hurry up." I said.
"Well in case you haven't notice I don't jump walls very often." He said finally over the wall.
We were in a new backyard. Filled with toys and other things. We were gonna go over it when jumped over it barking at us. We all took a step back and went the other way.
"Guys over here." Alex said leading the way. And we all followed.
"They're right behind us!" Emma yelled.
"Down the hill." Alex said grabbing my hand.
When we were down the hill when we saw the trucks. We stop and duck down. Once it left we got up and ran to the spot.
"Straight ahead." Alex said still holding my hand.
Wait haven't I walk this way before? Then it clicked. "Isn't this the way to your house?" I ask. He stayed quite and kept running.
"Yo! Alex this is the way to your house." Tuck said.
We finally made it to Alex house. We got the rope and climb it.
"Are your parents awake?" Tuck asked. No answer.
It was like Alex was on a mission or something. I look around to see if they were still behind is. Nope.
"Hey. I think we lost them." I said trying to catch my breath.
We finally made it to the top. We look around but saw nothing.
"I-i don't understand." Munch said.
"I... This is where the maps ends." Alex signs.
We all got our phones and put them together. He was right, but where's the ship?
All of us started looking around. Trying to find it. Maybe there was a misunderstanding or something.
"Maybe it's invisible." Munch said.
"Don't you think we would've ran into it by now." I said.
Echo started chirping. He was tugging Alex backwards. Eventually he let go.
"What's going on?" I ask. Way confused.
It went off his shoulder and went straight towards the ground. I walk to Alex and help him up.
"Everyone okay?" Tuck ask.
"What's down there?" Munch ask.
We all look down. But all I see is darkness.
"That's it." Alex started. I didn't catch on yet.
"It's underneath." Tuck said. Then I got it.
"So all this time..." Munch trail off.
"That's why the want our houses." I said.
They were digging.
