-Watch where you're going! Jisung spat at a figure that bumped into him on the street.

She picked up her bag and looked up, revealing under her huge hat the most beautiful brown eyes Jisung has ever seen.

-I apologise! I wasn't looking! Please forgive me, kind sir! she bowed, squinting her eyes in expectation.

Her long brunette hair shone, bejeweled with rain drops. Her red gown was cupping her waist perfectly. She was breathtaking.

-Get out of my way! Jisung stood strong and left her behind.

He had no reason to meet her again. She was nothing but a random face in the crowd.

-Jisung! Felix gasped in shock when he saw the older at the door. Oh my God, what happened? Hyung has been worried sick all day and Channie hyung even went to look for you. Are you alright?

-Is Minho here?

-N-no. He went to search for you. I'll call him and-

Felix stopped when he felt Jisung gripping his wrist.

-Please don't tell him I'm here, Jisung begged.

Felix looked at the pathetic expression on Jisung's face and turned off his phone, then invited him in his room.

-What happened? I thought you and hyung were happy. He was so excited for the date.

-I'm scared, Jisung mumbled as he dug his face into a pillow.

-Scared?

-He reminds me of someone... Someone I lost years ago.

-You think the history will repeat itself.

-Maybe. Or maybe it will be the other way around and he will lose me. I... I can't take it either way.

-You're scared of being happy, Felix kneeled down to make Jisung look him in the eyes.

-I am not allowed to be happy. Not me.

-Of course you are! I know that. I thought my whole life ended when my parents and grandma died. I thought the universe had something against me. Hyung tried his best to get a smile out of me. Now it's my turn to do the same to you. What do you like to eat? I'll make you whatever you want.

-You don't need to-

-I do! You've been on your own for quite a while. Let me take care of you this time.

-It's you again!

Jisung turned around and met with the same sparkly eyes once again.

-Are you following me? he asked defensive.

-Not at all. I wouldn't dare. It just happened to see you here and I came to say hello, she smiled sheepishly.

-You haven't said it yet.

-You got me here, she chuckled embarrassed. Hello!

-Goodbye! Jisung replied unbothered and went to search for a book.

-What are you looking for? Perhaps I can help. It's the least I can do.

-Leave me alone. That's all I want.

-Please! Let me help you! I feel guilty for bumping into you.

-Find me a book to read to my family. Then you and I are done.

The woman's face lit up as she wobbled on her high heels around the shelves.

-Here! A book of stories. A bit dark if you ask me. The romanticism is delightful in literature, but I can never get used to the gothic genre.

-Then Mary Shelley must give you nightmares, Jisung spat back, feeling superior.

-I confess I haven't read her works yet. I only heard here and there about Frankenstein. You seem very familiar to the story. Would you recommend it to me?

-I only came to buy a book. Not to give advice, Jisung snatched the book and went to pay for it.

At the counter was her again.

-You work here, he sighed.

-I do. And I need your name, sir. For the records.

-Han Jisung.

-I'm Lee Areum, she smiled. I'm glad I was able to help you, sir Jisung.

-Let our paths never meet again, he said coldly.

-Do you feel better? Felix watched as Jisung stuffed his cheeks with the cheesecake he made for him. Food always cheers me up.

Jisung nodded and proceeded to eat until he heard the front door slammed.

-It's hyung! Felix jumped off the bed.

Jisung got up and slammed him to the wall, covering his mouth.

He peeked through the cracked door and saw two people dressed in black tearing the place apart.

Felix felt on the verge of crying. He was beyond terrified while Jisung was trying to find a way to save both of them.

-Send Minho a text. Not call, just text, he whispered in Felix's ear.

The freckled boy nodded and grabbed his phone.

Jisung tip toed out of the room and got a good grip of a lamp the brothers had next to their rooms.

He waited at the corner and hit the first one that came into his sight.

The other pointed a gun towards him and yelled at him to stay down. Jisung mocked him and swung the lamp into the air like a baseball bat.

-I'll shoot!

-No, you won't. You would have done it already if you could. That gun has no bullets. Cut the crap and dissappear before I put the bulb where no light has ever reached.

-I'm serious! Get down or-

- Try it! You'd be surprised to hear how many people tried to kill me. Go ahead! Shoot. Or run and I won't call the police.

The two thieves looked at each other before running for their lives outside the apartment.

Jisung snorted before putting the lamp back to its place.

-Felix, they're gone.

The latter looked around scared and immediately dived into Jisung's embrace. The older was taken aback, not sure how to react.

-You saved me. Thank you so much!

-Those bastards couldn't hurt you anyway. Not sure if they stole something. We have to check. But they surely broke the lock.

-Minho hyung will be here in a minute, Felix added looking at his phone.

-Shit! Jisung took his things and turned to Felix in a rush. I saved your life. You do me a favour now. You didn't see me tonight. Deal?

-But...

-Deal? he raised his voice.

-Deal. But why? You're a hero.

-No, I'm not. I'm a monster. You all should hate me. I have to go.

Felix wanted to keep him there and by accident clenched the bandana around Jisung's wrist, revealing long lines alongside his tattoo.

Poor boy saw it for a few seconds and remained speechless. -Idiot! Jisung blurted out.

-You cut yourself? That's what you were doing? You tried to kill yourself while hyung was preparing for the date...

-Yes! See? I'm horrible! I have to go, he climbed the stairs up only to make sure he wouldn't meet with Minho and used the emergency stairs to get to the street.
