"HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY?"conrad asked as he entered the kitchen.
"no, not since last night. have you asked jere?" susannah responded.
"asked me what?" the youngest fisher asked, walking into the kitchen and grabbing a box of cereal from the pantry.
conrad glanced around. "have you seen molly?"
he shook his head. "i came down to ask you guys the same thing. i checked her room and she wasn't in there."
"did you guys check by the beach?" laurel asked, snacking on some fruit next to susannah.
conrad nodded and scratched at the back of his neck awkwardly. "yeah, i just walked down there. she's not there."
"belly, steven. have you seen your sister?" laurel questioned the two.
her oldest, who was sat on the couch playing video games, paused his game and looked over his shoulder. "no, not since yesterday afternoon. why? did something happen?"
"belly?" laurel asked.
she scooped another spoonful of cereal into her mouth and shook her head. "uh, no. not since last night either. i don't really remember much."
"maybe check her room again, she could've been in the bathroom," susannah suggested.
jeremiah sighed and jogged his way up the stairs to check her room again. now, her room was always clean. but this time, he had noticed the lack of items that made it her room. her clothes now gone, her shoes gone, all her valuables disappeared. "guys!"
"what?" conrad called back quickly in fear of what could've happened.
he rushed back down the stairs and into the doorway to the kitchen. "shes gone."
"gone? what do you mean gone?" laurel asked quickly.
"like she just got up and left?" conrad added.
jeremiah shrugged. "i don't know. all her stuff is gone. her room looks like it did before she got here. no more bags, nothing."
"let me call john," laurel said as she pulled out her phone and dialed his number. to her luck though, no response. "he didn't answer."
seconds later a ding resonated through the room.
john:
hey. i can't pick up right now. don't worry, molly is safe. she's with me and victoria.she read the text aloud, everyone's expressions dropping.
"where are they?" conrad asked.
laurel shook her head. "i'm not sure. let me ask."
another ding.
john:
she didn't want me to tell because she didn't want you all to worry, but we're home. she flew home with me last night. maybe her and belly got into a fight?all eyes were on her now.
she placed the spoon into the empty bowl and shifted uncomfortably in her seat.
"what does he mean 'a fight'?" susannah asked curiously.
she shrugged.
"belly. if your sister flew home because of it, i'm going to need you to do a little better than just a shrug," laurel said.
"we got into an argument," she admitted. "well, not so much an argument. more so me blaming stuff on her."
conrad shifted most of his weight onto one foot as he leaned forward against the counter. "blaming what on her?"
