Gracella, Grace, Mason was, without a doubt, bitter. She didn't want to be in Beacon Hills fighting random people and adding to the ranks of their alpha pack. She genuinely thought it was dumb, especially since they were after two alphas this time around.
Getting one alpha was one thing, they could kill their entire pack and join theirs easy enough, but two was a reach. Not to mention that Deucalion had said something about a Scott McCall, who they were speculating was going to turn into a True Alpha.
Grace didn't exactly know what they were thinking. True Alphas got their powers for being pure of heart or some other thing that sounded way too much like the power of friendship for her liking. Yes, she wasn't the most keen on killing every single werewolf or supernatural creature they came across, but not killing ever was a little much for her. She didn't take joy in taking a life, but she believed it to be necessary at times, like what she did.
Derek Hale and Scott McCall were their targets, only one of which had a pack.
After spending months upon months of surveilling them, the Hale pack, which had two members kidnapped and in the alpha's base, believed Scott to be an omega. It wasn't true, Ethan and Aiden, her best friends, had explained the whole process and experience of being omegas and she didn't think he looked anything like them. And the fact that he had yellow eyes from not killing anyone despite people around him dying all of the time? Dead giveaway.
In the Hale Pack was Derek Hale, the alpha, Peter Hale, some zombified past alpha who tried to kill everyone, and Isaac Lahey, a beta. Vernon Boyd was in their vault along with Cora Hale, Derek's little sister who barely realized her brother was alive after some crazy fire that wiped out their entire family. Then, of course, Erica Reyes who had been murdered one day that Grace wasn't present. She was with her sister, Corallena, or Colbie, as she preferred.
Colbie was a nurse working at the local hospital. She moved to watch over Grace, make sure she was safe, give her a place to live that wasn't with Deucalion who she just didn't trust at all. And how would Colbie make sure she was safe or protect her at all? Colbie was a witch, just like Grace.
Their father, a beta werewolf in a pack of fourty, married their mother, a witch. Specifically a Gaelic witch, meaning they got their power from others and how strong their connections with them are, feasting off of their auras and energies to be able to do spells. Obviously, there were ingredients they needed to complete every spell, but the power came from the mind and heart connection with the closest friends.
While the werewolf gene didn't get passed down to either daughter, the witch gene did. They had been practicing witches for their entire lives, though Grace mainly stopped after getting the bite at twelve years old, her most traumatic experience to date.
