18. 𝘽𝙖𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨

Ella hugs Anna who was sleeping now while thinking of what's going to happen next but sighs when they arrived to their next location for now. Ella hops out with the family, Viktor stays behind her as she makes her way to Rick's window.

"Rick, just a heads up with a classmate on my school." Ella said as Rick looks at her for a moment. "He saw me take off my mask when I was arguing with myself his name is, Tony Rydinger."

"Talkative type?" Rick asked and Ella shakes her head. "Good, is he you know... frozen?" He asks and Ella nods. 

"His still on the parking lot." She said and he nods. "Tony Rydinger. I'll check it out." Rick said with a nod.

"Bob, Helen, Ella...a word if you don't mind." He said seeing the parents come back out to say goodbye but the adults plus Ella made a small circle around Rick while Viktor offer to take Anna into the room. "Uh, the program's been shut down." Rick said with a frown earning shock looks from the three.

"What?" Both Bob and Ella asked.

"Politicians don't understand people who do good simply because it's right. It makes 'em nervous, they've been gunning for Supers for years." Rick explains and sighs. "Today was all they needed. Anyway, I'm done."

"I'm afraid two more weeks in the motel and I could get them off your back Ella, is the best I can do for ya. It ain't much." He adds with a shrug, Ella smiles sadly and hugs Rick. "You did everything you could, Rick and we can't thank you enough for it." Ella said and Helen nods also hugging Rick.

"She's right, you did plenty." Helen said and Bob smiles. "We won't forget."

"Well, it has been a great honor working with you good people." Rick said with a sad smile and looks at Ella. "You and Anna stay safe as much as possible, your parents would be proud of you which is why I'm giving you this." He said handing her a small box which Ella takes looking inside to see house keys and car keys.

"Turns out that you're parents left you a house not far away from here, look at it and make a decision." Rick said and she nods stepping back, the three heroes watch as Rick left.

Ella turns to the Parr parents. "You guys want me to bring food over?" She asked and watched them look at each other for a moment while looking through their pockets but they sigh, she remembered that their house was destroyed along with necessary money which is why she offer to order food.

"That sounds great, Ella." Helen said with a smile. "We'll pay back when we get some money." She said and Ella shakes her head.

"Don't worry about it, Chinese food?" Ella asked and they nodded all heading back to the room, Ella went to pick up Anna so they could settle in their own room.

Ella touch the water in the bathtub, making sure that it was good enough for Anna to take a bath. "Good." She said and heads to the bed where Anna was playing with some toy.
