Chapter 7- I feel lost

Chapin's Pov

I couldn't sleep at all during the night so I decided to go drive around a bit you know so I can at least get to know this stupid town.

The only reason we moved here is because my parents wanted to "Start fresh" you know have a new beginning. I hate this place. I have a younger sister named Nadine and she is fucking irritating. I mean no shit she's my sibling.

I grew up with very emotionally unavailable parents, they just always cared about everything but me and my sister.

I've always been a guy that sleeps around with girls, steal, smoke, and I have a fake Id. My life was pretty hectic. But anyways let's get back to the part where we left off.

I can't sleep so I drive around and blah blah blah. I spot the person i don't necessarily get along with quite yet. Nairobi modern. She's beautiful but a fucking a pain in the ass.

I see her walking to some gas station with a backpack that looks like is about to explode any minute.

As much as I wanted to drive away and ignore her, something just didn't let me.

"Hey sweetheart what are you doing out here?" I ask her genuinely curious

"Chapin?" She asked me trying to make sure it's me and I respond with a confused nod

"What the fuck are you doing out here it's freezing?"

"It's none of your business fuck head" she said before flipping me off and walking away.

There was no way in hell I am leaving her out here to freeze to death.

"Hop in" I tell her and she looked at me in confusingly

"Don't we like..hate each other?"

"No, YOU have made it clear that you hate me but I never said anything about hating you sweetheart".

"Just go away" she tells me before walking away again but I refuse to leave her here.

"For god sakes can you just get in the fucking car already" I said it sounding pissed. She looked at me hesitating whether or not to get in the car. Eventually she got in. I knew she would.

"So what's up with you?" I try to start a conversation

"Well..I feel lost..my dad just kicked me out and now I don't know where to go"

she tells me trying to sound strong so she doesn't appear weak, but I could tell all she wants to do is sob her heart out.

"You know you can crash at mines.. I have a guest bedroom at my house that you can sleep in"

I try to offer her the guest bedroom and I was praying silently that she would accept my offer. Maybe then we can be at least friends.

"You know what? Fuck it you only live once so let's do it" I look at her in shock, I really didn't think she would say yes.

"Ok" That's all I say to her.

I begin to drive to my house and I tried to sneak her in without my parents knowing but was caught.

"Umm excuse me Chapin can you tell me why this girl is here" My mom said to me sounding angry that I brought someone over without telling her.

"Umm mom this is Nairobi my um.." I didn't know what to say I froze on the spot trying to think of what to refer her as.

I mean should I take this opportunity to say she's my girlfriend? I mean it's a pretty funny joke and I know Nai would be so livid if I said that.

But just as I was about to say girlfriend..Nai responded

"Friend I'm his friend, I'm sorry to intrude but the door to my house was locked and no one was home so I called Chapin to see if I could stay here for the night" She said it to sweetly, like as if she was such a saint.

My mom believed her lies and told her it was ok and that she can stay here for tonight.

I show her the guest room and where the bathroom was if she needed it and then before I went to my room she told me

"Chapin" I turn around when she said that and responded with

"Yeah?"

"Even though I hate your guts.. Thank you for letting me sleep here" I knew she meant it because she gave me a heart warming smile.

I don't care, I know for a fact that I have a crush on this girl.
