"Im here."

Etienne slowly opened his eyes at the coachman's voice. When the carriage came to a complete stop, Ben, who was sitting across from him, rose from his seat.

"Your highness."

Standing in front of Etienne, Ben called out to him with an apologetic expression.

“I will put eye drops.”
“……okay."Étienne replied in a subdued voice, tilting his head slightly back. With Etienne's permission, Ben pulled a small vial from his bosom. Then he moved his hand in a cautious motion.

Tok.
T/N: Sound of falling eye drop.

Black water droplets fell on his eyes, which seemed to have been inlaid with aquamarine. At that moment, his eyes became hot as if they were on fire.

Étienne endured the pain by biting his lower lip. Even though he did it every time, he never got used to the burning pain as if his eyes were melting.

“It is done.”

Étienne closed and opened his eyes, feeling the tingling sensation in his eyes slowly fade. The reappearance of the eyes was murky.

Ben watched with pity as his eyes, which had been sparkling like a clear lake, had lost their luster and turned cloudy. Etienne pretended not to notice Ben's gaze and pulled him up.

"Let's go."
“Yes, Your Highness.”
Capturing his expression, Ben tapped the driver's seat with his hand. Then, as if he had waited, the carriage door opened wide.

“Your Highness, wait a minute.”
Ben, who got off first, reached out and straightened Etienne's clothes.
“It is done.”
Ben withdrew his hand and withdrew with a satisfied face. Etienne, who was dressed more splendidly than usual, was so beautiful that anyone could admire him.

“You look very nice today.”
“Flattery.”
“I mean it, not flattery.”
Ben protested as if he was unfair. His gaze turned to the red diamond brooch on Etienne's chest.
“Even the red diamonds in the world can't compare to your beauty.”

The red diamond brooch, one of only about thirty in the world, was sent to Etienne this morning by Empress Leona.
Normally, Leona didn't care what Etienne was doing, but she was different when she stood in front of many people. Apart from not liking Etienne, she hated seeing him ignored by anyone other than herself.

After all, Etienne was her son, and he was of the Herece family.

“Your Highness the Prince!”

At the news of Etienne's arrival, Count Herece, who had come out, called out to him in a hearty voice. Étienne greeted the Count approaching him with his eyes.

“Long time no see. Earl of Herace.”
“Ah, what is this formality? Please call me uncle, as before.”

Count Herace smirked and put his hand on Etienne's shoulder. At the rude action, Ben, who was behind Etienne, opened the ax eye. However, he failed to point out the count's actions. No matter what he said, it was obvious that as a maternal nephew, he would be shameless, saying, “I can’t even pretend to be friendly with my nephew.”

Rayan Herace.

The late son of the Duke of Herace and the Empress's half-brother, he was his maternal uncle with a small age gap with Etienne. In terms of status, the prince, Étienne, was above the count, so he should be polite, but he didn't.

Ben glared at Rayan, who didn't hesitate to rub Etienne's shoulder, as if he was jealous. No one else knew, but he knew.
Rayan was clearly ignoring his nephew Etienne from a long time ago.
