"Kanroji-kun."
Mitsuri was overjoyed that she was approached by Tomioka today of all days. She's been expecting to hear from her since their Lunch a couple weeks back but with her and Tomioka's undoubtedly hard missions she's had no luck. But today has been quite the stressful day, she's certain it'll take a much better and equally as needed turn.
"Ah, Tomioka-san! Pleasure to hear from you!" She quickly answered as Giyuu came face-to-face with her. There was an unusual softness on Tomioka's face that was usually unseen but she relaxed at the sight. "Did you need anything in particular?" Mitsuri quickly added to make sure she didn't seem as eager to talk to Giyuu as she actually did, the girl was easy to scare away.
Tomioka's lips parted to presumably ask something from Mitsuri or perhaps make small talk (Kanroji hoped it'd be the latter!). But before she could get more than a word out she was knocked out of the way by another person who sneered at her.
"Unbelievable, Tomioka, watch where you're going, will you?" Shinazugawa complained as Tomioka regained her balance and stared at him with barely concealed annoyance. There was a small glare in her look which definitely didn't go unnoticed by Sanemi if the bulging vein in his forehead is anything to go by. "Look at me like that again and you'll regret it." he all but growled out and Tomioka's face turned blank.
"Look at you like what?" She asked innocently with a slightly raised eyebrow. And Mitsuri could swear she saw the corners of her lips turn upwards. Mitsuri quickly covered her mouth with her hand trying to muffle her subtle laughter.
"How are you, Shinazugawa-san?" Kanroji questioned when she noticed Sanemi slowly turning red from anger, it definitely wasn't healthy to get upset so quickly. Kanroji considered herself a kind woman who would stand up for her friends when in need. Of course she would never outwardly anger or irritate the person. "You looked better the last time I saw you." So she resulted to subtle insults.
It was laughable how long Shinazugawa stared at her with a blank expression. You could practically see the cogs turning in his head. She wasn't lying however when she claimed he looked better last time they met.
Sanemi wasn't the standard type of handsome, nevertheless he definitely was. His hair was a beautiful albino white while his eyes could be described as velvet most of the time. His scars were oddly intriguing and brought out his features. Now however his hair was limp and in chunks. His usual velvety eyes were a muddy scarlet and he looked like he hasn't slept in weeks.
"Why do you still offer Tomioka your presence, Kanroji?" He opted to say instead of the usual insult. Something was most definitely wrong. Would Kanroji ask? Definitely not. Would she try to figure out by herself or offer her company? Most likely, it usually cheered people up.
"Tomioka-san is amazing company, Shinazugawa-san, you should try to be kinder to her." She calmly answered smiling impossibly more. Ok that's starting to hurt. Ouch. Yeah, maybe she should stop smiling now. But that would be rude! She wouldn't be surprised if her cheeks were bruising. "Perhaps you'd become friends." Both Tomioka and Shinazugawa seemed to sneer at her. Bad suggestion?
"With all due respect, Kanroji." Tomioka said, quickly drawing both Kanroji's and Shinazugawa's attention. "I don't find Shinazugawa-san worth my time." The others gaped at her for a moment, shocked by her sudden change in attitude. Mitsuri was jumping in excitement since Tomioka was finally getting comfortable standing up for herself. Shinazugawa sneered at her (which should've been completely impossible).
"The feeling is entirely mutual." He replied tapping his foot on the hard ground underneath them in a simple rhythm. After another moment both Tomioka and Shinazugawa walked away. In different directions ('as if the other was a ferocious dog' Mitsuri would like to add).
Mitsuri sighed as she rubbed her temples. She hated how much the two distanced themselves from each other. How Shinazugawa insulted Tomioka for breathing. How Tomioka would shrink in on herself whenever he was around.
She swears she will fix their relationship. After all she is the Love Pillar, this is her specialty. Fixing relationships is her specialty. Maybe force them to spend some time together. Ooh~! Maybe she could invite both of them to dinner. Yes, that would work. She's brilliant at planning.
She swears this'll work,
"I'll help fix your relationship, trust me!" She yelled before skipping off to a restaurant. Mmm~ Sake Daikon, a classic. It reminds her of someone, though she chooses to ignore the giddy feeling in her stomach as she eats it. She wonders what something else would taste- ok, that's enough Mitsuri.
Time to get planning!
'I feel like Cupid.' Kanroji mused.
