She had to run. She would not let them get her child. Not her. The child in question cried in the woman's arms strengthening her resolve. "Mama's right here, it's going to be okay." The child's tail wrapped around the woman's arms. The child's head nuzzling into her elbow. The woman remembered how she found the child like it was yesterday. How this all started with a walk at the beach.

~~~
The woman walked on the beach. She was humming a tune while collecting seashells. Though the night soon would wash the land, the woman stayed walking on the beach. And that's when she saw a bubble coming towards her. Shocked the woman prepared herself to be splashed, but the bubble did not pop. Instead it hovered in front of her. Inside the bubble she saw a child. Not any child but what seemed to be a dragon child. However it only seemed to be half dragon. She might be wrong but she wasn't really sure.
(I mean you are walking in a beach and just randomly see a bubble float towards you... yeah, plot.)
The woman held out her hands and the bubble popped. The child landing in her hands. The woman sees a letter inside the child long cloth. She grabs it and opens it. Once it is read she stares at the child in shock. She would take care of this child like it was her own. She just hoped this child would not be to much of a hassle.
~~~

She heard noises. They had found her sooner than she expected. A man with a pitchfork came close. "Lady Meiying you can't possibly think of letting that child live!" She looks around for an escape, she can not let them hurt this child. "I can't let you hurt her!" Her grip around the bundle tightens. She was mortal, there was only so much she could do.

The child kept crying. "Lady Meiying, give me the child." The man states angrily. "No! I won't let you hurt her." She states again. She sees a river and places the child on a lily pad. She looked back at the group of people and stood in front of the river watching the child float away. The ocean was protecting the child just as it did long ago. And then it all happened so fast. One of them managed to hit her with a weapon, to close to the heart to not be fatal. The ocean bringing back the child to her almost diseased mother. The child cried. She cried tears upon tears for the woman. "Do not cry tears my child," the woman says, hand coming to the child's face, "this is just life my darling child. Yin Bao. I believe it fits you perfectly." And then, she's gone.

The child held her hand. Yin Bao looked up in anger. The water from the river surrounding her. She cried tears of anguish. And in her tears of anguish, the people perished. She would not let them survive for hurting her mother. So she killed them. Every last one murdered by the waters protecting the child. Yin Bao's anguish harsh like a storm, crying over her deceased mother.

The four year old cries more than she has ever cried. "Mother," she says holding her mother's hand. "Why? Why is humanity so cruel. They harmed you for protecting me. I'm sorry mother." The child left. Left the place that hurt her mother, left the place that tried to kill her.

The sea responded to her anguish, the water becoming harsh. Tides coming up, and waves crashing into the village. Once it was done, nothing was left of it. The girl left it all behind. And ventured off. She would never understand humanity, at least that's what she thought. She hoped her mother was being guided to a safe life in the after life. That she would be peaceful and content. Yin Bao took one last look at the place she called home, and left. She couldn't stand to look at the place that hurt her any longer.

She sighed softly tail and ears pointing down. She hoped that this fate would not be given to anyone else, and so the child ventured off into the world were none would guide her. She travelled far enough that she couldn't see the village any longer. She paused once she was far enough. Heart pounding and tears falling, she fell to the floor near a river.

She didn't know what to think anymore. Life was supposed to be beautiful, so how come it brought so much pain. Everything her mother told her seemed wrong right now. Maybe if she was older she'd understand. But not right now. Not when the scar was to fresh. Not when it could be reopened so quickly.

She let unconscious start to win, drifting off while staring at the fish in the river. Huh, being a fish felt like a really good idea right about now. No worries, no problems. She envied their tiny little brains. So if she dreamed of fish that night, she knew who to blame. If she saw her mother's dying face, she knew who to blame. If she saw the village being destroyed by the ocean, she knew exactly who to blame.

(Woo, prologue done. Yay. As I said, this is my first book ever writing so please bare with me hear. If you have any tips please let me know because this would be very useful for future books. I've had the idea in my head for a while so I just wanted to write it out. Hope you enjoyed! I also don't know how commonly I'll be posting with school starting up soon, but I'll try to post almost all the time. Thanks again!)
