Power Rider was a story project that I had in development for many years since the early 2010s, and by saying that you can probably guess that Zero-One was not our first choice when it came to which Kamen Rider season I was going to adapt. Initially the series I wanted to adapt was Kamen Rider OOO, as that season at the time checked all the same boxes that Zero-one did all those years later. kids love animals, right? well OOO is three animals in one! plus the whole mix-n-match gimmick lends itself to an engaging action figure line in addition to the main villains from OOO all being rubber suit monster akin to something you'd see on Power Rangers. what would have been the storyline for this earlier version of Power Rider? Well I'm glad you ask, here's my original pitch for the pilot episode of this iteration of Power Rider:

Our story would begin 12,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt, with a mighty but corrupt pharaoh named Kamen-Ra (yeah I know the name sounds like a bad pun just go with it, he's an american-made villain like Xaviax from Dragon Knight) who sought to obtain all the magic in the universe to make himself more powerful than any mortal man, to walk among the gods. this lead to the pharaoh striking a deal with beings from another dimension known as the Beastmen who offered him a magic belt and three mystical talismans known as the Power Medals allowing him to achieve godhood in exchange for becoming their new leader.

The Pharaoh with his newfound powers agreed to this deal became the leader of the Beastmen, donning the army of the power rider and leading the five Beastmen generals (Servalis, beast general of the jungle, Hivemind, beast general of the swarm, Levia, beast general of the seas, Behemut, beast general of the mountain, and Ankh, beast general of the sky) to conquer every land he saw fit to rule. Kamen-Ra's reign of terror would seem without end, until one of the beastman generals would turn on his own kind...
