Flashback:
Kyler watched as his friend turned his back and walked down the street. He let out a sigh before turning to leave, but then happened to glance back and saw a figure following his friend, which alarmed him.
Then, Kyler had a second thought - what if that person was simply walking in the same direction? But his gut was telling him to follow, so he groaned in frustration as he jogged over and hid behind one of the posts.
June turned the corner, and the person in the all-black outfit did the same. When the person took the same turn as June, Kyler's eyes widened as he recognized the familiar face, even though he hadn't seen the person's face directly, only the back of them.
"Shit, what are you doing?" Kyler cursed under his breath, questioning the person as if they would hear him. He had no choice but to act natural, but then his phone turned on with a loud ringtone, making him jolt and curse at the volume. The person stopped in their tracks and turned around, prompting Kyler to run back to the corner.
Kyler stopped midway, realizing this might be a stupid move, but he had to make sure his friend was safe. He collected himself before exhaling.
Kyler walked back, acting as if nothing had happened and trying to appear natural. He noticed that the person had slowed down their pace, likely having heard Kyler's footsteps. The person then took a different direction, making Kyler sigh in relief.
Was June being stalked?
Kyler had just witnessed it, and the sight of that person's face made him clench his fist.
"What are you up to, Kane?" Kyler muttered under his breath.
