Eyes are on us...some, I feel like a white blood cell under all the red...

I look out the window to escape the unpleasant glances.

"God how embarrassing..."

I whisper in front of me...

"What?"

"Nothin'...when do we arrive?"

"Uhmm...around 10 minutes..."

"Okay...they're all looking at us..."

I whisper to Marshall in a low voice.

"I know...they think, they think we're a couple..." Oh, okay, really embarrassing, but are we actually now, aren't we?

"Ugh...embarrassing..."

"But...what about yesterday?"

"I don't know...tell me whatcha think about it..."

"I-..."

"We should talk later...not in a bus..."

I think I basketed him a little... right?

"Yeah..."

"I'm sorry...a lot has happened in the last few days... I don't know where to go and I can't keep livin' this way... I had a simple life in Germany, honestly, I'd like to move back to it..."

I look at him a little desperate, I think I took him a little by surprise... he, on the other hand, just smiles at me and looks deep into my eyes, then he says:

"Don't worry, everything's gonna be alright..."

The corners of my mouth are abruptly pulling up and I'm kind of glad that I have it now...

"I really wish it was easy... I hate my parents, I hate my life, I just wanna escape from it... I ain't got nothin' what should keep me here..."

I say, but my voice is getting sadder again... Am I just pouring out my heart to him...?

"Yeah, fvck it, I'll escape...when come with us?"

"You, you want to immigrate?"

I ask him unsurely...I mean, it's already a pretty violent fact to say so easy on the bus when you take your little sister to kindergarten that you want to emigrate...well, rather run away...

"Uhm...-"

My parents wouldn't look for me, I wouldn't miss anything here, not a bit, not even Jo, even if that sounds hard, my old life was different, easier...

Finally, I get together and say:

"I'll book the tickets..."

I smile and he also laughs a little relieved and happy...

"We'll talk later, alone, okay?"

He looks at me kind of cute...hmm...I really have problems...

"Yeah sure..."

I continue to smile at him...

"Ah, we have to leave..."

Says Marshall, stands up carefully, raises Lily on his arm and holds on to a pole near the door. I stand next to him and try to avoid the cold looks of others...

The bus stops and we get off, we are the only ones. Lily is still sleeping, she lies with her head on his shoulder. How well he can do with children, but to other people again so derogatory... can be so kind to me... he remains a mystery...

"Look, this house, that's her kindergarden..."

He points to a house, a small blue wooden house, just a few centimeters away from us. Then, we walk next to each other on the sidewalk, touch each other's hands. First we look at each other, then he takes my hand and smiles. Less than a minute later we arrive at the house. There is a large sign on its entrance with the inscription: "Kindergarden"

"Okay, that's it"

Says Marshall and we go up the steps of the porch. He rings the bell and a friendly-looking woman opens the door. Lily is still asleep.

This woman, already a little older, beams at Marshall and asks him in.

"Ah, hey Marshall, hey Lily!"

"Good morning Mrs. Hattonfield, Lily sleeps"

Marshall says quietly.

"Ah, okay, can you give she to me?"

"Yeah, of course, but, can we talk for a few minutes?"

"Sure"

Marshall hands over to Mrs. Lily, she is still sleeping.

"I'll wait outside..."

I say

"No, just come in, play with Lily..."

Says Marshall and smiles at me. So I step in and Mrs. Hattonfield Lily. Mrs. Hattonfield shows me a room with a table full of toys, we sit there and Marshall and Mrs. Hattonfield left the room.

P.O.V. Marshall:

Me and Mrs. Hattonfield are going to her office. She sits down across from me and I start talking to her. She is the head of the kindergarten.

"Marshall, why do you want to talk to me?"

"Well, I have to take Lily out of kindergarten, we'll probably be moving soon..."

"Moving, okay, where are you going?"

"We don't know exactly yet, but probably out of the USA..."

"Oh, that sounds promising. Alright, I'll get the papers and you sign."

"Yes, thank you Mrs. Hattonfield."

"I know it's not easy for you in your family, but you can always talk to me, you're still a child yourself..."

"Well, thanks, but we decided to start fresh outside..."

"Okay, but nothing wrong with that...here, my phone number, get in touch if you need anything..."

"I really appreciate that, thank you."

She pushes me a small piece of paper across the table. I stuff it in my jacket pocket. Then she digs some forms out of a drawer. She shows me exactly where to sign, gives me a pen and I sign.

"Well then you can go now, when will Lily stop coming?"

"Probably tomorrow, but would you do me a favor and keep it all to yourself, like the move and all?"

"Um, yeah, of course... I just hope you're aware of what you're doing..."

"Yes I am..."

I get up from the chair and walk out the door to Josie. She's sitting at the table with Lily and they're playing some game... I'll ask Josie later...ask if she wants something more between us...
