We walk along the streets together. It is cold and the sky is gray. A few raindrops are crashing on our heads. Marshall takes Lily by the hand and we go to the bus stop. Finally, we take the bus to Dre's studio. He is already waiting outside and comes to meet us radiantly...
Dr: Yo Em! Are ya excited?
Ma: Yeah kinda...when do we meet with 'em tomorrow?
Dr: 11am at this studio...but Josie, at first, hey...
Jo: Hi Dre, am so happy about that video...
Dr: well, they said they would also do an interview...
Ma: Really? You didn't tell me that...
Dr: so, now you know, where do we wanna eat?
Jo: at this tiny diner down this street!
Dr: Ah yeah! Good decision...
Ma: Com'on Lily...
Dr: Oh Hi Lily! I didn't notice you, are you fine?
She nods and smiles lightly. Marshall takes her in his arms, she buries herself shyly in his chest and we finally go to this diner. We enter the diner and sit at a table by the window. I sit next to Dre and Lily, of course, next to Marshall. I'll order a milkshake and a small fries. Marshall and Dre share a huge mountain full of fries and chicken. Lily gets a small children's menu with a banana milkshake.
Dr: So, any ideas what you wanna put into your video?
Ma: prolly something with a living room and a TV, am not sure...
Dr: we just wanna plan some things tomorrow, so everything's fine...
Ma: Okay, but I gotta eat this bunch of fries first...
So we eat up and pay, finally we go to the studio again and they go through the song. Lily and I are sitting on the sofa and playing a game together on my phone. At 4 p.m. we will take the bus back to Proof. We are standing in the driveway and I tie the shoelace to Lily.
We go back in and sit down on the sofa for proof. Later in the evening, Proof and Marshall go to a club with Cheddar-Bob and a few other friends. In the meantime, I take care of Lily and make her a little something to eat in the evening.
I sit on the sofa and scroll through Instagram. Finally, a call comes from Marshall. I assume and go briefly into the hallway.
Ma: Hi Josie, I just wanted to hear how it is going?
Jo: Yeah good, we're sitting on the couch an she fell asleep at 10pm...
Ma: okay, I think we'll come back at 2am, prolly, eventually a lil bit earlier...
Jo: okay, so enjoy your time...
Suddenly a shot sounds...
Jo: Uhm, Marshall what happened?
Ma: Shit... I'll check this...call you back in a few minutes...
Jo: yeah sure...
He hangs up and I sit back on the couch. I look worried at my phone and wiggle my leg impatiently at the call, I'm quite worried and finally Marshall calls back after half an hour...
Jo: So?
Ma: proof got shot...
Jo: how is he doin'?
Ma: we're at the hospital...they say he won't make it, but there are still chances, even if they're low...
Jo: So, you'll stay at the hospital?
Ma: yeah...
Jo: shall we come?
Ma: nice idea, but Lily have to sleep...
Jo: okay, call me if something changed...
Ma: Yeah, I want...
I lie down and take Lily to bed worriedly. Finally, I also lie down in bed, but I can't close my eyes. I'm going through my head with proof all the time. But still, I fall asleep.
The next morning I wake up next to Marshall. I shake him awake, he just looks at me dattered.
Ma: what?
Jo: Is Proof fine?
Ma: yeah, they said that I should go home, they would call me if something had changed...
Jo: oh okay, that's good...
Ma: so...wanna eat something?
Jo: yeah sounds good...
So we get up and make some breakfast. Then we wake up Lily and eat together. Finally, Marshall gets ready and goes. Me and Lily play a few games and watch some TV. At first I wanted to come with Dre because of the interview, but after what happened to Proof yesterday, we wanted someone to stay at home and, if necessary, be able to prove quickly.
In between, Marshall sometimes writes to me, it's probably going quite well and Proof also seems to be doing better. In any case, Lily and I are waiting for Marshall, who will come back after several hours and happily tell us about the video.
