One year later
Pablos P O V
The moment the music started playing, my breath hitched. I had been waiting for this moment for what felt like forever, but now that it was happening, time seemed to slow down. Everyone stood, turning toward the entrance of the aisle, to see the woman I would be marrying today. As the door opened, I couldn't help but smile when I saw her.
Cassie.
My Cassie.
Dressed in the most breathtaking white gown, her eyes shining, her face glowing with happiness, her father by her side as he walked her down the aisle. My heart pounded against my ribs as I took her in, every little detail, her soft curls framing her face, the delicate lace on her dress, the way her hands clutched onto her father's arm, as if grounding herself. She was smiling. God, that smile. The same one I had fallen in love with all those years ago. The same one that had kept me going, through every high and low.
Pedri gave me a small pat on the back, but I barely noticed. My entire world had narrowed down to her. My only focus was on her. Our eyes met, and for a moment, it was just the two of us. No guests, no music, no grand ceremony, just me and the love of my life, standing on the precipice of forever.
When she finally reached me, her father leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek before placing her hand in mine. I squeezed it gently, holding onto her like she was the most precious thing in the world.
"You look beautiful, mi amor," I whispered, watching as a blush painted her cheeks.
"Thank you, Pablito," she murmured back, and I felt my heart clench at the sound of her voice. That nickname, it would never get old, not when it came from her lips.
The officiant began speaking, but I barely heard the words. I was too busy memorizing her, taking in every single emotion dancing in her eyes. Happiness. Love. Maybe even a bit of nervousness, I looked into her eyes, never losing the smile on my face until it was time for us to share our vows.
Cassie went first, her voice shaking slightly with emotion, but every word that left her lips was filled with so much love it nearly overwhelmed me.
"Pablo... I don't even know where to begin. From the moment we met at the cafe with Sara and Gabriella, my life changed in ways I never expected. What started as something uncertain, something that neither of us saw coming, turned into the most beautiful love story I could have ever imagined."
"You have been my best friend, my partner, my safe place. You make me laugh when I need it most, you hold me when the world feels too heavy, and you remind me every single day what love truly means. I have never known a love as pure, as unwavering, as yours. Even when we had our lowest moment a month after that contract we still got back together and did so stronger."
"I vow to always stand by your side, through every victory and every challenge. I vow to support you, to encourage you, and to love you fiercely for the rest of my days. You are my home, Pablo. And no matter where life takes us, my heart will always belong to you."
Tears welled up in her eyes as she finished, and I felt my own vision blur. I reached up, gently wiping her cheek with my thumb, whispering a soft, "I love you."
