Tysm for all the love & support on my story, you guys are truly amazing <3. If you want to read more, I'm working on a new story called Beneath The Surface if you're interested.
Looking back at this book, the grammar is horrible but I still think that the story line is really good :)
Here are some Easter Eggs/fun facts !
1. I actually had a whole chapter written out where Bad died instead of Foolish.. here's a small snippet of it:
*
He feels his chest tighten when he sees Bad laying on the ground. His whole world spins, his vision becoming foggy. He looks at him from afar before looking back at Wilbur. Wilbur has got tears in his eyes. Foolish's face is completely beaten up. He's got red rashes and purple marks all over his face.
He blinks slowly, subconsciously clenching his fists. His face turns pale, his eyes turn darker and suddenly all sort of adrenaline coursing through his body has been replaced with fear.
"Fuck you! Fuck you," he listens to Wilbur scream, looking at the dark red blood streaming out of Bad's skull.
*
I also introduced Schlatt in that version (he was on Punz' side as like, one of his employees) but I felt like it would ruin the storyline and I didn't like the chapter in general, so there you go guys! You could've lost Bad...
2. I was supposed to give George insomnia (diagnosed) but I never did.. I don't know why. But he thrived on coffee! (And Red Bull, kind of)
3. To begin with, I wanted the detective to be Dream and George to be the murderer..
4. I then was like hmm. What if they worked together as a team? (I then wanted the murderer to be Wilbur) here's a snippet of what I'd written back then:
This was also written in Dream's POV and first person where George has a girlfriend. You all could've had a lot of alternatives, lol
*
"Wow, i feel praised by those words, George." I laugh. He chuckles at my dumb statement, "those investigators are nothing like detectives. They're actual idiots, skimming through the most evidential pages." I say, the statement coming right from my inner voice — which makes it a bit less filtered.
I make a face of realisation when i remember that George's girlfriend is an investigator, better yet, she is apart of the team that helps us.
"I didn't mean-" I get cut off, "leave it, Dream. You can roast my girlfriend another day, we have a case to work on." He says. My brow raises with interest, leaving the first 2 words in the past - my thoughts now thinking about the fact that he said the word roast.
Never in my 6 months of this job have I heard him be anything but formal.
*
(I wanted him to be jealous afff)
5. I never considered this when I was finishing my book, but at the beginning, I was actually contemplating whether or not I wanted it to be a happy ending or not. This is one of the lines if it had another ending..
TW
(This is not actually for the book, it's like an overlook of the main ideas)
*
and then George finds out he's offed himself and then he takes a shit ton of pills. His last words are, "I want to name the movie "Yours."
*
(Context is that Dream and him sit on the roof and talk about what their movie would be called, and George doesn't have a clear answer but then he figures it out when it's too late)I know, sad :(
6. Amidst writing this, Technoblade sadly passed away and I wanted to make something special for him. It wasn't planned that Dream's brother would be Technoblade, but then I figured it was a good time to include him. I also haven't seen any books about Techno where he isn't the villain (in books that include Dream) so I wanted to make it different.
7. It was not planned that Punz was gonna be the evil guy. It was going to be Wilbur, but then I thought that it'd be cool that it turned out to be Punz because he was the first person George met when the investigation begun and no one would suspect him.
8. I was in art class when my book hit 600 views and I was smiling so hard. I was lowkey astonished by that number, and here we are with 20k+ reads :,).
9. This is not fully related to this story, but I actually have another unpublished story (that I never published, ever) and it has 12 chapters. It's over two hours long but I discontinued it because I didn't feel the spark. Maybe I'll rewrite it? I don't know.
10. I cried writing chapter 28. (It All Comes Crashing Down) I actually had a hard time writing it because everything was leading up to it and it was like, the peak of the story, so I didn't know how to execute it the best way possible.
11. Do you remember the drawing of an Apple Dream made in one of the first chapters? 26/02/23 is actually my birthday! (That was the date he made the drawing on)
I think that's it, I'll update if I magically remember more. Once again, thank you all so much for the immense amount of love you've given me on this story. The support is actually insane and I'm so glad that I've been able to get so many people to read my story.
I really hope you enjoyed Homocide Fifty :) my other story is similar but with better grammar and also a good storyline... so if you're boreddddd....
Anyway, thank you thank you thank you. That was all. I love you all so much.
