Melanie Goldsmith was your typical, know-it-all, nerd. She loved schoolwork, reading, and music, always finding those as escapes from life.
Mel lived with her parents in New York City, and she liked it. She had cool friends and lived in an amazing house.
But after her parents think they should move back to their hometown. So, they packed up their stuff and left for Hawkins.
Now that she was in Hawkins, she couldn't help but remember all those bad memories about the lab. But now that she is not in the lab anymore, she can have a fresh new start. She will be meeting new people and getting another set of good grades in school.
Can't be too hard...can't it?
Well, that's what she thought. Who knew all it took was to befriend the weird kids at her new school for everything to fall apart?
