Chapter 56: I'm going to be a daddy

Lucas's p.o.v:

A lot has happened in the past month in the medical field and in my life. My life has just been so crazy. I'm a counselor for a teen mom program. When Marie came to me with the news I feel in love with the idea. I'm also going to be a daddy and I'm so happy.

I'm at work and it's the end of my shift. Marie and I are locking up. I say, " So I'm going to be a daddy."

"Yeah I know."

"What did Brittany tell everyone?"

"No I think she has just told me and Megal."

"Oh ok."

I go to the class after having a visit from Ray. When I get there she hasn't showed up yet. When she does she is five minutes late. She says that she had some family stuff to take care of. Marie ask Brittany if she told her. Brittany says, " Yeah I finally stopped being a pussy."

Ray says, " Danm mom you told her before you told your own daughter?"

"I needed advice."

"Fuck that you should have told me first."

The other girls are looking at them like what the fuck so I say, " This isn't the place for that."

Ray stops and says, " I'm sorry."

After 30 minutes the class ends. Tonya ask if she can speak to me. I nod and we stay behind. She says, " I don't know what to do. I know it was three right thing telling someone in law enforcement but I'm scared for my little brother."

"I know you are but hopefully it will get him the help he needs."

"Yeah I guess you are right but I just don't want him to die."

"Brittany would never lay down a ruling like that."

"I hope not. I have to go." I nod and go find Brittany. I give her a hug and kiss her belly. I say, " So how is the trail going?"

"I can't talk to you about that."

We next question flies out the window with that answer. I say, " So how is everything going with the pregnancy?"

"Everything seems normal."

"That's good."

"Yeah but as you saw Ray is mad at me."

"That is probably because you Todd Marie before you told her."

"I hope that is all it is."

I put my arm around her but she moves away. She says, " You are going to be an amazing dad but Megal and I are going to be a couple."

"Like hell." I storm off to find him. When I do I start yelling. I yell, " She is mine!"

"Calm down and who is yours?"

"Brittany!"

"I said calm down. What makes you think she is yours?"

"She is having my baby!"

"I.said calm down. Just because she is having your baby doesn't make her yours."

"Yes it did! What are you going to do about me not calming down? I will fight for her honor if I have to!"

"Ok since you don't want to calm down you will have to deal with her since I'm letting you have her. She won't be happy so be ready for the backlash."

I storm away. I go find Maria. I say, " I have some good news."

"What is it?"

"I'm buying you a hut."

"Are you trying to bribe Ray into being ok with her mom being pregnant?"

"Oh so she told you?"

"Yeah but that doesn't answer my question."

"No it's not a bribe. Your a really good worker who doesn't get paid enough."

"Then thank you."

"You're welcome."
