My Utopia:

Chapter 3: Learning new things

Hey my name is Elizabeth. I have long brown hair with blue eyes and I wear glasses. I have an awesome husband who name is Ben. He has short black hair with brown eyes and also wears glasses. We have two kids named Tonya and Tony. Tonya is 14 with long black hair and blue eyes. She also wears glasses. Tony is 7 with brown hair and blue eyes. Like the rest of us he also wears glasses. Our story starts when I find out that they are making cut backs at the school I work at. They fired me so I decided to book a cruise for my family.

I get home from just getting fired. I decide as a history teacher I probably should see the world so that I can do a better job. I book a cruise for my family leaving in just five days. When my husband gets home from work I tell him what I have done and why. He says, "It's not awesome that you got fired but it's awesome that we are going on a cruise."

"Yeah it is and I can't wait to tell the kids." Just as I say that they come walking through the door. I tell them that we need to have a family meeting. We all walk into the living room. We sit down. I say, "I have side bad news. I got fired today. The good news though is that we are going on a cruise in five days. It will help me become a better teacher."

Tonya says, "No I'm not going you can't do this to me. Just because your life why down the drain doesn't bean mine has to. I have a compation this weekend. Like I said I'm not going. My life revolves around cheerleading and I'm not going to let anyone mess it up for me."

Ben says, "Young lady you will not talk to your mom like that. We are all going to support your mom. Our life doesn't revolve around your cheerleading."

"I hate you guys. You guys don't care about me at all."

"We care about you but like I said we are going to support your mom. Now get on up to your room."

She runs off. Tony rolls his eyes. "Mommy why sister act the way she does? It's awesome and a good thing that we are going on vacation. We haven't been on one in a really long time. I'm excited."

I give him a hug. "Thank you my little chipmunk for wanting to go. However I can't answer your question about your sister."

He hugs me back and runs off. Ben says, "Do you think we should go talk to her?"

"No let her cool off. I'm going to cook dinner and when it's done I will go talk to her." He nods. I go and make homemade pizza. When it is done I dish it out. I take the plate and go upstairs. I go to my daughter's room and knock on the door. She yells go away. I open the door and walk in. I hand her her plait and sit down. She says, "I said go away."

"Well to bad this is my house. Your not going to tell me what to do in my house."

"But it's not fair."

"Life isn't fair. Do you think it is fair that I lost my job? I'm just glad that I have your dad or we would be going in living on the streets right now."

"No it's not fair that you lost your job but I shouldn't be getting punished for it."

"Your not getting punished. Most people would die to find out that they were going on a cruise."

"Yeah well I'm not most people. I have worked my ass off to get where I'm at in cheerleading."

"Watch your mouth. You know you aren't to old to get your mouth washed out with soap right?"

"I'm sorry mom but it's just not right because of all the money and time spent on this."

"Who payed that money?"

She sighs and says, "You and dad."

"That's right and if you want to keep cheerleading next year than you will be going on this trip with us."

"I'll go but I'm not going to like it."

"I never said you had to like it." With that I get up and walk out the door.

Five days later we are running late because if Tonya who is throwing a pitty party in the back seat. We get our bag to the loading zone. We barely have time to park though car. We run to the loading dock. We go through security and get on the boat just as they are taking off. I say, "Great Tonya thanks a lot for making us miss the take off party. Now we have to go to the safety meeting. We get in there before anyone refuse dues. About 15 minutes later everyone comes in. The instructor tells us where are boats are located. He then says, "Please keep a bag packed of all the things you might need in an emergency. Also please take that bag everywhere. We are passing out two things right now. One is an emergency bracelet this will keep you safe if something was to happen. The second thing is a wrist band this is super important if you have kids. If for some reason your kids aren't with you then these bracelets will help us to help your kid find you." The meeting ends and we go to our room. We all take a shower other then Tonya. We watch a movie for an hour while Tonya goes outside to be by herself. After the movie is over it is time for us to go to dinner. I go and get Tonya. She says, "I'm not eating."

"Ok have it your way just remember this." We leave get and go to dinner. Ben has water and a steak well done. Tony has chicken nuggets and mac and cheese with Apple juice. I have a burger with sweet tea. We get five eating and go back to the room. We see a little bit of a monkey made out of towels before Tonya writes rips it down. We all decide that instead of dealing with her tonight that we are just going to go to sleep. We fall asleep with her still upset.
