"You know what? You're fucking stupid." She spat at you.

"(y/f/n), I'm sorry, I–"

Your best friend had been acting distant lately. All you wanted to do was help, but she blew everything out of proportion.

"You're sorry?!" She shouted in response, tears falling down your face.

"Just fucking leave me alone, (y/n)." She scoffed, turning away and walking to her car.

Watching her drive away, you decided to stay the night at your dad's instead of (y/f/n)'s house.

The snow began falling again as you pushed your black-gloved hands deeper into the pockets of your peacoat. Your (y/h/c) hair was braided and tucked neatly under a beanie.

Your tears chilled against your face as you made your way down the dimly lit streets.

"Hey, dad." You smiled when he opened the door.

"Hey kiddo— I though you were staying with-" he paused. "Y/N? Have you been crying? Come inside, please." He stepped aside to let you in.

He hugged you briefly. "You know what you need? You need to see that boy, what's his name again?" He was talking about his neighbor's son.

"Tyler?" You smiled at his comment.

"Yeah. Go on, now! Go! Knock on his door." He guided you out of the house with his hands on your shoulders.

The snow reflected the moonlight and the yellow light of the street lamp, making everything brighter than it should be at 10:00 at night.

You walked to the street and were surprised to see Tyler outside as well.

He was singing softly to himself.

"I'm a goner,
Somebody catch my breath,"

"Tyler?" You called quietly.

He turned around and gasped, his hands shoved in his jean pockets. You could see his red socks.

"Oh my- Y/N? Is that you?" He jogged up to you and hugged you, "I haven't seen you in forever, how are you?!"

The two of you decided to walk over to the small park a few blocks away.

The walk was quiet, the two of you enjoying the silence and falling snow.

You sat on the edge of a dry fountain. Tyler sat next to you.

"How've you been doing?" He asked.

You sniffled quietly, feeling tears well up in your eyes again.

"Y/N? I-I'm sorry, I–"

You wiped your eyes with your gloves.
"It's okay, Tyler. I've just been kind of sad recently. I just... My only friend fucking hates me and I don't know why..." You paused before choking out, "...my mother would've known what to do."

He heard your voice breaking and pulled you into a hug .

"Tyler, I miss her so much."

He took you into his arms again and rubbed small circles into you back. "I know, (y/n), I know... I miss her too. I'm so sorry..."

You gently pulled away and looked up at him. His chocolate eyes sparkled in the moonlight and you could see his warm breath cloud around you. His cheeks and nose were rosy and plump. The snow continued falling as he gently touched your chin.

His voice was just a whisper as he asked you, "Could I kiss you?"

You nodded, your mouth slightly agape, as he tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear.

His lips were cool and chapped as he slowly, gently kissed you.
He rested his gloved hand on your cheek as your lips moved in sync.

You both pulled away and caught your breath.

"(Y/n)?"

"Hmm?"

"I've loved you since we were both nine years old."
