"So," Jeongguk buckled his seatbelt and rolled back his shoulders, settling into the seat. "Where are we going?"
"To this lake... I don't remember what it's called." Taehyung replied as he clicked on some buttons on the dashboard and then connected his phone to the car's speakers via Bluetooth.
He gave Jeongguk a half-hearted apologetic look, eyes glinting with slyness. "It's like twenty minutes away from here, I hope you don't mind."
Jeongguk rolled his eyes, unimpressed. "I bet you've already figured out that Saturdays are my off day."
"Yep." Taehyung handed his phone to Jeongguk with a music app displayed on the screen. "Let's hear your playlist."
"I hope you're not expecting some underground, underrated alternative indie music, because I mostly only listen to K-pop." Jeongguk confessed, taking the phone and searching up "Love or Die - The New Six". Then, the song began blasting through the car speakers when Taehyung started driving.
Bobbing his head to the song, Taehyung shot Jeongguk a soft smile. "No expectations, just a ton of curiosity."
Jeongguk returned a faint smile before looking out the window, basking in every second of the smooth ride. Taehyung's company was beginning to feel more comfortable, though he couldn't pinpoint if it was because of the night rain and his favourite music accompanying them or if it really just was Taehyung.
It was perfect as the two fell into a relaxed silence for the majority of the journey. When Taehyung took a peek at Jeongguk and noticed that he appeared to be contentedly humming to the songs he had queued while gazing out the window, he decided that he had all the time in the world to ask Jeongguk questions.
Plus, Taehyung found himself enjoying his soft humming. He could tell that Jeongguk most likely had an angelic singing voice.
And then they arrived at the lake. While Taehyung was parking the car on the roadside, Jeongguk peered out the window in anticipation. From a not-so-long distance, Jeongguk observed the lake and thought that the place looked wonderfully quiet and serene.
"Are you gonna murder me and dump me in the lake?" The doll joked.
Taehyung chuckled. "Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to get away with a murder." He said before turning off the car engine and unbuckling his seatbelt.
Wordlessly, Taehyung turned to Jeongguk and hovered over to his side, which made the doll freeze in the seat, the back of his head pressing into the headrest and his hand tightly grabbing on the little pocket on the arm rest that one usually uses to grab to close the door.
"Hyung, you..."
"Hm?" Taehyung paused, unperturbed by the close proximity, as he calmly stared up at Jeongguk. Then he realised and got surprised at how the younger had reacted, as they had been in closer proximity especially when they were dancing together at the party before.
Taehyung drew back hastily to his side. "Oh, sorry." He smiled sweetly and pointed to the glove compartment, which was almost touching Jeongguk's knees. "The raincoats are in there."
