"So, what do you think about him?"

Jeongguk paused, neatly placing the empty coffee mug in his hand on the tray he'd just placed on the table. "Who?" He asked, looking sideways at Jimin, who was seated at the table closest to the counter.

Sitting cross-legged on the chair, Jimin had a somewhat vague smile on his face. "Kim Taehyung."

"Oh, well," Jeongguk averted his eyes from Jimin's inquisitive ones. He returned to his task, taking a small plate with smears of pink frosting on it from the table and placing it on the tray. "He's alright."

A little weird, though — Jeongguk wanted to add, but then he'd have to explain how Taehyung had planted a kiss on his hand, which felt like it should remain not talked about. For now, at least.

"What do you mean alright? Come on, give me some flavour, please." Jimin complained, body jolting upright in his seat as he searched Jeongguk's face, keen to hear more. "Did you find him hot? What was he like?"

"Hyung," Jeongguk groaned, walking over to the counter with the tray in his hands. He leaned the side of his body against the counter and gave Jimin a pointed look. "Well, he seems nice and fun."

"Right?" Jimin seemed content with his answer, which made Jeongguk feel grateful, because all he can think about Taehyung was the fact that the guy had kissed his hand, presumably to express his gratitude for the help he had received.

Jeongguk caught something in Jimin's expression at that moment that looked a whole lot like adoration or admiration. "Hyung- hold on,"

He moved a little closer to Jimin, eyes squinting in suspicion. "You like him??"

Jimin gave him an incredulous look, "What? No, he's just a good friend. Gee."

"Yeah, okay," Jeongguk quipped, low-key convinced of his suspicion that Jimin low-key liked Taehyung, or not — but there was something there. He can't be sure of what it was yet. He returned to the tray on the counter and took it to the kitchen.

A minute or two later, "Aren't you gonna tell me what happened that night?" Jeongguk asked, tone slightly demanding because he'd been so curious about it and it's been like, 4 nights since then.

"Hm?" Jimin hummed distractedly.

He came back to Jimin who got back to reading the book he brought with him. He sat in the empty chair across the table. "Why was your friend beaten up? And he was gonna get caught for what?"

"Oh, right," Jimin quickly slipped a piece of an old receipt onto the page he was reading, using it as a bookmark, and closed the book. "So,"

Jeongguk gave him a single encouraging nod. His hands were folded in his lap as he waited to hear the story.

"Taehyung got into a fight with someone at a nightclub." Jimin began, lowering his voice even though there was no one else but them in the cafe. "One of the waitresses got slapped by this dude and Taehyung defended her and then got beaten up by the dude because of that."
