A teal bus petered down a twisting mountain path, climbing up steep inclines and down sloping pavement. Inside, the 1-A class sat in neat rows, some leaning over the plush-backed seats or blocking the narrow walkway with their bodies. Loud chatter filled the bus, and the students shouted into one another's ears to be heard. Periodic thumps tossed the half-standing students around, and Aizawa occasionally yelled at them to sit down.
Midoriya sat in the second-to-last row, playing card games with a whole circle of students.
"Noo! Who killed me?"
"Bakugou, stop peeking at my cards—"
"Hahaha! Take that, losers!"
"Umm, that's against the rules..."
Noisy laughter rang out every so often, and the green-haired teen chuckled at the chaotic game. Suddenly, the bus screeched to a halt and his body slammed forward, squashing his face right into the grey seat to his front. Midoriya's hand of cards flew out of his hand and over the chair, onto the person seated in front of him.
"Aw, shoot!" A distraught voice cried out. Cards were strewn all over the floor, and people looked to and fro in confusion. Most other students had accidentally thrown their cards around as well, and regretfully stared at the messy floor.
"Alright, time to get off. Hurry up." Aizawa stood at the front of the bus, taking advantage of this sudden silence.
Pausing, everyone looked dumbstricken at the scattered cards. "Sooo... who's cleaning that up?" Mina laughed awkwardly.
"I can do it, th—"
"Yaomomo, you weren't even playing. It's fine."
A loud sigh came from the seat in front of Midoriya. "I'll do it."
"Thank you, Nakahara." Iida responded curtly, shuffling around as he picked up the cards nearest to him. "I'll help as well."
"Nah, don't worry about it." Chuuya stood up, and Midoriya got a good view of his reddish hair— reddish hair with three cards tangled in it. Oops.
The redhead smirked. "Watch this." He stepped into the walkway and held his hand out, closing his eyes and furrowing his brows. One by one, the scattered cards began to glow red and slowly shifted towards one another. Chuuya's hand trembled as they drifted upwards and into a neat, floating deck.
"Woahh!" Kirishima gaped at the impressive scene. Mina plucked the deck from the air, laughing as she slipped the deck into its box.
"Showing off, are we?" Dazai stood up as well, a small smirk gracing his features. He reached out and brushed the cards from his partner's head. Picking them off the ground, Dazai handed them to Mina, and she gratefully accepted.
"Whatever." Chuuya grimaced, hiding an embarrassed smile. "Let's go."
Midoriya watched this interaction closely, and inwardly grinned at their familiarity. They must have known each other for a long time. It must be nice. Being someone who never really had friends up until recently, he envied their relationship. Midoriya sighed haphazardly and stood to follow everyone. He stepped down from the bus and eyed the forest scenery around, noting an expensive-looking black car parked nearby. Besides him, Mineta wiggled his way around, clutching his crotch as he wailed for a bathroom.
From the corner of Midoriya's eye, Dazai watched amusedly.

Chuuya was really not feeling great. That morning they had to get up early, but he ended up sleeping in because a certain bastard broke his goddamn alarm clock. Plus he had to skip an actual breakfast and instead downed a quarter of a bottle of cheap sherry, the last of his precious alcohol stash.
