Y/n was unfortunately abandoned by his parents, thrown into the harshness of the real world at the age of 4.Will he be able to form new relationships or be killed by the aggressive wild?
It has been a couple of days since Y/n had begin to live with Kukui and by extension Ash. Currently it is night time and Y/n is struggling to stay asleep. The day that he and Ash battles against the island guardians and when he was gifted a z ring. To this day, nobody knows about his possession of the accessory and he is worried that if he strives for the island challenge then he would be subject to endless torment by those he don't like him as well as the fact it could lead to an officer Jenny taking him away from his pokemon and his new home. But the endless dreams of Talu Lele screaming at him to go for it as well as the dreams of his pokemon telling him the same thing keep him up. It is at that moment he makes a decision.
The next morning Y/n wakes up before Ash and rushes towards the kitchen where Kukui is making them breakfast. Y/n:Hey Kukui? Kukui:Hmm? What's up Y/n? Y/n:I was wandering if you knew where I could find the Kahuna of the island? Kukui:Yeah, he lives over in Iki town, but why do you want to meet him? Y/n paused for a moment as Kukui waited however, Y/n knew that Kukui had to know what he was up to at all times. Y/n:I wanted to challenge him to a grand trial. Kukui:A grand trial? But you don't have a Z- He was stopped when Y/n showed him the bejeweled Z ring with a Z crystal. Kukui then got serious. Kukui:Y/n I have to ask you this, where did you get the Z ring? Y/n:I know it's hard to believe but Tapu Lele visited us and gave us the Z ring. In response to this Kukui laughs as Y/n looks confused. Kukui:You and Ash are so much alike. He got his Z ring the same way. Ok I will take you to see Hala. Y/n:Thank you Professor.
Later that day Kukui guides Y/n to Iki town. They enter a house where they met a large and authoritative looking man Y/n assumes to be Hala.

Hala:Kukui, to what do I owe the pleasure? Kukui:I have another challenger for you. This is Y/n, the kid I told you about. Hala:It's a pleasure to meet you Y/n, I am Hala the kahuna of Melemele Island. Y/n:It's a pleasure to meet you. I wish to challenge you to a grand trial. Hala:Hmmm. Normally I would have challengers go for a trial however, I can see you already have the normalium z. So I accept your challenge. Y/n is excited as the three of them head to giant wooden stage in the center of town. Kukui:This will be a 2 on 2 grand trial battle between Y/n and Hala. May the battle begin! Y/n:Chaplin I need your help! Hala:Go Crabrawler! Both pokemon are called to the battlefield. Hala:You may have the first move. Y/n:Thanks. Chaplin use confusion! Chaplin's eyes glow blue as Crabrawler is lifted into the air before slamming hard into the battlefield. Y/n:Rapid spin! Hala:Bubble beam! Crabrawler sends bubbles onto the battlefield as Chaplin slips and fall in front of the fighter. Hala:Power up punch! Crabrawler slams a glowing claw into Chaplin as he is sent far back. Y/n:Rapid spin again! Lillie:Why is he repeating the same attack? The sound of Lillie's voice alerts Kukui as he turns around to not only see Lillie but actually the whole class. Kukui:What are you all doing here? Kiawe:We were hanging out together when we heard a battle and wanted to check it out. But why is that thief fighting a Kahuna? Kukui:He wanted to get stronger. They all keep watching on as a repeat of their earlier clash occurs. Y/n:Rapid spin again! At this point Mallow has had enough and screams at Y/n. Mallow:Can't you see you are only causing your pokemon more harm! Y/n:And can't you see this isn't your battle! Chaplin use confusion! Chaplin holds Crabrawler again and slams him harshly on the battlefield. Y/n:Use dazzling gleam! Hala:Dodge it! Hala's cry for evasion is useless as dazzling gleam is an attack that covers the whole area and knocks out Crabrawler. Kukui:Crabrawler is unable to battle. Hala send out your final pokemon. Hala:Hariyama go! Hala sends out his ace as the battle commences once again. Y/n:Use confusion! Hala:Fake out! Hariyama, despite his size, becomes a blur as he slams his palm into Chaplin and causes him to flinch. Y/n:Use confusion! Chaplin's eyes glow blue as he throws Hariyama away. Y/n:Time for my plan to go into motion. Use freeze dry! A wave of ice and snow is sent from Chaplin's palms. As this hits for decent damage in Hariyama it has a secondary effect. Due to Crabrawler's bubble beam it caused water to be sprayed on the battlefield which is now frozen and makes the wood brittle and due to Hariyama's weight he fall through the floor and is now stuck. Y/n:Now return! He recalls his pokemon and looks at his partner as Hariyama is struggling to escape. Y/n:Plagg go! Plagg leaps into battle. Y/n:Fake out! Plagg leaps above Hariyama and slams his paw on his head as the fighting type flinches. Y/n:It's time! He initiated the pose that he saw Kukui teach Ash as the class are in shock. Y/n:Theif of the night, grace us with a sample of your power and use breakneck blitz! Before Hala could use his own Z move the Galar native and his feline companion already activated theirs.
The move causes the battlefield to break apart, sending Hariyama flying as Plagg was switched out for Chaplin. Y/n:Confusion! The flying Hariyama was caught by psychic waves as he is smashed into the ground. Kukui:Hariyama is unable to battle, Mr Mime wins. Therefore Y/n is the winner. The class are in awe as not only does Y/n have a Z ring and Z crystal but he defeated a Kahuna without losing a single pokemon. Hala:That was an incredible battle young man. And for that I gift you with this fightinium z. He hands Y/n a brown z crystal with a black fist imprinted within it.
