Having arrived at Paniola Town on Akala Island, Ash and his friends get ready for their first lesson with Olivia. She brings them to a barn full of Stoutland, explaining that the town's Stoutland are known for their ability to find hidden treasures. As a result, the class will involve using the Stoutland as Ride Pokémon in a treasure hunt. Professor Kukui instructs the class to choose a Stoutland they bond the best with. Ash is excited over all of the Stoutland, and one by one the others select their own Stoutland. Lana approaches a particularly disagreeable Stoutland, who Olivia says has the wildest personality of all the Stoutland and hasn't quite fully developed its tracking abilities. Peering into its clear eyes, Lana decides to go with the surly Stoutland. Ash bonds with a friendly Stoutland that pounces on him and licks at his face, reminding him of the Stoutland that Litten befriended. While Ash is dealing with his Stoutland the rest of the group pick their ones. Once the Stoutland are each assigned the students head off. Y/n, Plagg and Stoutland split off the furthest from the group, each step they took caused them to sweat. Eventually, the air began to heat up in resonance with the smoke that was filling up parts of the sky. They were at the base it Wela Volcano. Y/n:Why are we here? He speaks to Stoutland in a soft tone that Plagg takes notice of. He only takes this tone with a select group. His pokemon, other pokemon and his friends which includes Kukui, Lillie and Ash. He realized that his partner is truly a like person but to those that deserve his kindness. Stoutland jestered to the peak of the volcano and Y/n got an idea. Y/n:You smell some treasure? The hound barks in agreement and they then set off through the cave. The cave is as heated as the air and Y/n is struggling with the heat. To help him, Ariel comes out of her ball and sprays him and the others with water gun. Eventually, they make it to the peak where a pedestal with a glistening stone is awaiting them. Y/n:Is that a z crystal? Stoutland barks in agreement as Y/n and his pokemon grin. He takes a step but a loud growl comes out and out of the rocks comes a large, menacing dark gray Pokémon resembling a salamander or lizard. Her body has a grayish purple underside with several wavy, dark pink markings: a U-shaped marking with two additional lines inside on her chest and one on each hip resembling wisps of smoke. The dark gray on her head and neck extends slightly onto its chest in a V-shape. She has a slender head with purple, almond-shaped eyes with slit pupils and two fang-like projections on each side of her lower jaw. There are two thin, wavy growths on its back at the base of her tail, which is whip-like with a dark pink underside. Her hands and feet each have five long, thin digits, with dark pink palms that can unleash flames. When the pokemon comes out, she has a golden flare around her.

Y/n:What pokemon is that? He uses his rotom phone to use the pokedex app. Phone:Salazzle, the Toxic Lizard Pokémon. A poison and fire type.And the evolved form of Salandit. Filled with pheromones, its poisonous gas can be diluted to use in the production of luscious perfumes. Y/n:A fire type? Then in that case, Ariel let's go! Ariel jumps into battle, ready to take on the totem pokemon. Y/n:Use water gun! A stream of water bursts from the sea lion's mouth as the pressurized blast slams into Salazzle. The totem glares at the pair before forming a blazing whip with her tail and using it to hit Ariel Y/n:That was fire lash! The totem grins before roaring into the air. This seems to be a call as a tiny Salandit crawls from the cracks of the rocks. The pokemon leaps into battle and uses a string of embers that hit Ariel. Although the pokemon is inexperienced in battle, the aggressive assault still does some damage. Y/n:They turned this into a 2 on 1 battle. In that case I will even the odds. Ace go! He sends out his fire rabbit who is pumped up to battle. Y/n:Quick attack on Salandit! And Ariel use hyper voice! Ace's face bandage mark glows pale white before he blitzes the petite lizard. In addition to this, the evolutionary line is hit by a hyper voice from Ariel which sounds like a harmonious tune thanks to the empowerment of the voice box. Furthermore, the attack is booster thanks to her liquid voice ability which changes sound based attacks into water type. The attack hits for massive damage in Salandit and decent on Salazzle. Y/n:Water gun on Salazzle and double kick on Salandit! Already close to the pokemon, Ace lands two fierce kicks on Salandit but the pokemon holds on as it retaliates with a mud-slap that pushes him back. Ariel sends a water gun to Salazzle but the poison type counters with a flamethrower. The two pokemon are now entered into a deadlock for power over the situation and neither side wants to give in. However, as she is spewing flames, Salazzle yells out something to Salandit. The pokemon instantly nods his head, suggesting that this is a minion following the orders of a mistress rather than allies helping each other out. The pokemon then raises his hands into the air like a prayer to the gods as the light of the sun intensifies. Following this, flamethrower's power is doubled in both size and apparent power since the fire type attack overpowers water gun and strikes Ariel. The pokemon skids across the ground with skid and burn marks lining her body. She is still able to get back to her feet but is worse for ware. Y/n:That was a dirty trick! Salazzle cackles with an obnoxious laugh as she uses her tail for another fire lash. Y/n:Ariel! Dodge it! The pokemon tries but her body us wounded and her speed decreased. The attack is about to land but out of the blue, Ace catches the attack with his paws. Y/n:Use quick attack! Ace darts forward, bringing the end of Salazzle's tail with him as the pokemon is dragged forward in an uncomfortable position. Ace slams into Salazzle with great force but the pokemon is still standing with a smirk. Y/n(thought) :What is she smiling about? Salazzle's mouth opens as a noxious gas oozes out like slime and consumes Ace. Y/n's eyes widen as his pokemon is hit by toxic. Y/n:We are on a timer. Ariel, use water gun! Ace use quick attack to escape! Despite the totem using her to constrict and bind Ace, the pokemon is able to jump out as Ariel sends a water gun flying to Salazzle. In response to this the pokemon decides to use her tail to grab something else, Salandit. She grabs her minion and throws him at the water gun to take the full force as he sent flying off the cliff edge whilst mitigating the attack. Y/n:You're cruel, using your own ally like a shield. That's inexcusable! The pokemon disregards this as she sends another flamethrower that is still empowered by sunny day! Y/n:What a minute, sunny day means all fire type attacks are powered up. I have an idea! Ace use ember and Ariel hang back. The pokemon nod as Ace kicks his rock to create a fireball that collides with the flamethrower. The two fire moves for for domination as Y/n calls out the second stage of his plan whilst Ace twitches from poison. Y/n:Ace use quick attack on the ember! Ace does so but as he jolts forward, his patch doesn't change colours and instead a remains the same as he is engulfed in flames that raises his speed. Y/n:Great! You learned flame charge! The attack slams into the fireball as it begins to dominate. Salazzle, however, isn't about to let the attack go through and so uses all her power to push on through. Ace recognises that his power isn't enough and so pushes even more until his body turns blue and flares up with more power.
