Hii! This is kind of a part 2 to last chapter because this is what happened to Chloe and Nick while me and my crush were looking for the money he lost. Enjoy!!
"Hey, where are we going?" I asked when Nick grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Lexi (me <3) and her crush (WHO WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS BECAUSE I AM ASHAMED).
"I have to leave in a few minutes, and I wanna spend that time with you. Just you," he replied, smiling up at me.
I returned the smile and followed him into the merchant's building. I had began to get a bit nervous when I realized that Nick wasn't looking at anything, he was kinda just walking stiffly while staring straight forward. This was unusual because usually we would spin every free wheel we came across and laugh about different things we saw.
We made our way to the back of the building and outside of the back doors. I wasn't sure where exactly we were going, but I decided that I shouldn't ask any questions.
Nick stopped walking once we were outside and I leaned my back on the side of the building. He was only a few feet away from me, nervously looking from the ground and back up to meet my gaze.
As he took a few steps closer, it occured to me that he might try to kiss me. Just in case if that was his intentions, I took my hat off so that it wouldn't be in the way.
Our faces were only a few inches away now, and Nick's hands were now placed on my shoulders. We seemed to both hesitantly bring our faces closer, until our lips finally met.
It was a sweet kiss. It wasn't a peck, but it wasn't a make out session either. It was perfect.
That was my first kiss. I wasn't sure if it was his, too, but I remembered him saying that he didn't have a first kiss that really counted yet. I hoped he counted this one.
He pulled back, and his lips spread into a wide smile, and I couldn't help but smile back. I felt my cheeks heat up because of how adorably awkward the kiss had been.
Stepping a few steps back from me, Nick laughed nervously. "That was weird."
"Yeah, kinda," I replied, "but I liked it."
Nick's smile dropped as he looked down at his phone. "Oh, no, I have to go..."
I wouldn't see him until next summer.
"Bye, Nick, I- I love you..." I said, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Bye, Chloe, I love you too..."
"Forever?"
"Yeah, forever."
Then he left. Not for forever, but for a long time.
